Avocado Dip

This creamy dip is an entertaining favorite.  We also like Creamy Avocado Dip as a spread on our Spicy Southwestern (meatless) Burger recipe.

Yields: 6 servings | serving size: ¼ cup | Calories: 59 | Previous Points: 1 | Points Plus: 2 | Total Fat: 4 g | Saturated Fats: 2 g | Trans Fats: 0 g | Cholesterol: 1 mg | Sodium: 30 mg | Carbohydrates: 4 g | Dietary fiber: 2 g | Sugars: 1 g | Protein: 3 g

Ingredients

  • 2 avocados, peeled, seeded
  • Juice of 1/2 lime
  • 1 small tomato, diced
  • 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded & deveined, diced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons freshly chopped cilantro
  • 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt, low fat or fat free
  • ½ teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Sea or Kosher Salt to taste

Directions

Add avocados and lime juice to a medium mixing bowl, mash with a potato masher or fork. Add remaining ingredients, stir until combined and a smooth consistency. Refrigerate until ready to eat.

NOTE: This dip also makes a nice spread.
