DIY Lemon Brown Sugar Hand Scrub

This hand scrub exfoliates and moisturizes for glowing hands!

Our hands go through a lot during the course of each day. Between pulling, pushing, typing, hand-washing, and weight lifting, our hands are involved in nearly every moment of our lives. We put the skin of our hands through a great deal of stress, but we also enjoy having nice-looking, soft hands. Our hand scrub brings you the perfect solution to overworked hands.

Simplicity is always best for our bodies. Combining lemon, brown sugar and olive oil, this hand scrub is meant to soften and exfoliate your skin, treat your cuticles and nail beds, while leaving your hands with an amazing natural glow and light aroma. Talk with your hands more frequently and allow this clean, natural scent to become your trademark.

Ingredients & Why they Work:

Brown Sugar – If you’ve decided to lighten up on sugar, but have some left over that you’ve been itching to get rid of, use it in this scrub! Brown sugar is more beneficial than bleached sugar to your skin, because the sugar grains are smaller and softer, causing less stress to your skin. Brown sugar grains are still strong enough to exfoliate dead skin cells and let healthy new ones bring radiance to your skin. Brown sugar contains glycol acid, which helps break down bacteria. It also absorbs natural moisture and keeps it locked in, which produces hydrated and glowing skin.

Lemon – Lemons have been used topically for years. The acidity provides a natural cleanser to remove bacteria from our bodies. Our hands are very scar prone, and lemons have the ability to diminish these scars. Lemon also fights off wrinkles, reduces excess oil, lightens dark spots, and brings a natural shine to your skin.

Olive Oil – Olive oil always seems to make a guest appearance in our DIY body recipes. For this specific recipe, this miracle ingredient will help to soften dry skin and fight off wrinkles.

What to Do:

1. Measure 3/4 cup of brown sugar, 1/4 cup olive oil and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. You can use freshly squeezed lemons or purchase lemon juice.

2. Pour all the ingredients into a small bowl and mix them thoroughly.

3. Pour the contents onto your hand and mix softly. Work your way down to your wrists, in between, your fingers and your cuticles.

4. Rinse your hands with cool water and you are all set! Enjoy your soft, lightly scented hands!
