  1. will it still give you energy if you don't used the kiwi. not sure I can talk my hubby into drinking it with the kiwi in it and he sure could use some energy right now. sounds good to me though.

      1. I think frozen makes a difference though. One it makes the smoothie naturally colder, but something about frozen before blending makes the smoothie have a thicker creaminess. Also, buying organic produce in bulk, waiting for peak ripeness then freezing makes smoothie ingredients readily available and reduces risk of produce going bad while it awaits the blender :- )

    1. Most smoothies can be made without the bananas. Try substituting 1/2 cup Greek Yogurt, 1 tablespoon of chia seeds, or 1/4 cup ground steel-cut oats. These ingredients will offer some creaminess, without altering the flavor profile too much.

  2. Awesome. I added 1 TBS of chia seeds and a serving of organic source plain whey protein – nice combo, thank you!

    1. Jennifer, Hmmmm…I prefer Matcha Green Tea because of its health benefits. There’s no particular brand I look for but in my pantry now is, The Republic of Tea. 🙂

  3. Are the health benefits the same hot or cold? Is metabolism boost one of the benefits? How much green tea rr day is recommended? Thanks

    1. Hi Jennifer, The benefits should be the same hot or cold. Green tea typically contains caffeine so it’s probably best to avoid close to bedtime.
A couple of cups a day a fine for most healthy individuals.

  4. Do you include the stems of the kale in the smoothie? Most recipes I have seen say to cut out those stems but I’m willing to try anything once. I do appreciate your speedy answers.

  5. Can you make a bigger batch of this and freeze it in portion sizes?

Defrost a portion each morning so you don’t have to make it from scratch each morning?

    1. Sylvia, It has 24 grams of natural sugar. Please check with your doctor if you have a concern. 🙂
