    1. To whomever, some really weird question’s are asked, as I read all the post on this site. I just couldn’t understand, how some don’t understand what to do , and what is good for them. I do lot’s of research on what’s healthy, ect. . I don’t know any of you, was just looking for recipes and found this site. Drinking warm or hot drink’s in the morning is ok but tru the day cold is better. The cold water causes your brain to say, warm me up. Everyone should know, if a person shiver’s when you’re cold, your brain is saying, “I’ve got to warm you up.” You can lose more weight by drinking cold, whatever, during the day. Also, any kind of mint is easy to grow, but grow it in a container, it vines, and will spread everywhere if you plant it in the ground. It will keep coming back every year, if it’s planted in the ground. If you plant it in a container, have it inside your home, just pinch it back once in awhile. It’s a prolific grower, smells good, and a person can use it for other things. You can crush it with the sugar, before adding to any drink, for a more minty flavor. Don’t know where you all live but you can get the mint in different flavor’s, all mint flavor’s, then, lemon, chocolate, ect.. Look for them online at different veggie places or at different stores that sale seed or plant’s. You could plant
different kind’s of them in little pot’s, to put on a sunny windowsill. Enjoy your mint and yes, it’s edible, just be sure to wash it before eating. My kidney’s were about to fail, my Dr. gave me a prescription, couldn’t take it, hurt my stomach. He had told me if I didn’t get them under control, would have to be put on dialysis. I sure didn’t want that, so went to computer, looked up what I could do to get my kidney’s to work right. I learned, I needed to alkaline my body, it was to acidic. How to alkaline my body, either use lemon juice or tart cherry capsules (can be purchased online where you get your vitamin’s , drugstore, or health food store). When you think of acidic, a person might think, lemon’s are acidic, but they help your body to alkaline. I thought that too, before reading how to alkaline the body. A person can learn many things if you go to the right sites online, especially on health food sites. I hope this helps many of you. This is a lengthy post, sorry. Happy eating!

  1. Hi there! 🙂 I absolutely love this water! I do have one question… You said in an earlier reply, that it was okay to drink… Here’s the (dumb) question. Is it okay to drink longer than a couple of days? I’m not a big fan of just plain water, and I am learning a lot about detoxification, that is why I started mywaterdetox.com to clarify a lot of confusion. Anyway, I could honestly see myself replacing my old boring water with this! I just want to make sure it’s okay to drink on a daily basis before I do.

    1. Ramon, Yes you can replace regular water with this and drink it on a daily basis, several times a day.

  2. Hi there! Do we have to do the lemon mint or are we able to just do water? I am good about drinking water all day, and I'm not a HUGE fan of flavored waters. However, if you think it is necessary I will give it a try! Thanks! 🙂

    1. Christina, Lemon and mint or lemon and ginger are very cleansing. Regular water is great as well, but you should give at least lemon water a try:).

  3. I've been trying this for about 2 weeks now and I can really tell the difference in my weight..

        1. Room temperature water is less shocking to your system first thing in the morning, but if you prefer to drink the water cold, the advantages gained are minimal enough that it won’t make too much of a difference.

  4. Love the lemon and mint water, but my mint turned brown in the fridge before I could use it all. Had it about three weeks. Does that mean I should not use it?

      1. hy i boil mint in 2 jug of water when it remain 1 jug i cool it down and save in bottle for daily morning drinking water is it ok

  5. I ‘ll try this must…but my question is ,, how can I drink mint leaves ?.should it be crushed or what ? Plz explain.when can I get result after starting this and how many times I ‘ve to take throughout a day ? Will it be effective really?

    1. Jannat, Do not drink the mint leaves. The essence will infuse into the water. That’s all you need. You can have this a few times a day or just once in the morning. Some people prefer just plain lemon water or lemon water with ginger root.

  6. Hello I just heard about this and I’m going to try it out. I just have one question so I’m sure I’m doing it right. I do not put the water in the fridge I leave it at room temperature?

    1. Hi Jo,

That’s correct, room temperature. Could you tell me where you heard about our Morning Lemon & Mint Detox Water? 🙂

  7. HI PLEASE
    MY QUESTION TO YOU ALL
CAN WE USE THE DETOX WATER FOR MORE THAN THREE DAYS WE USE IT.
WE PREPARE IT AND KEEP IN FRIDGE AND DRINK IT DAILY TWICE FOR THREE DAYS

    CAN THIS BE DONE
    IS THIS ETHICAL
    IS THIS HYGENIC,.

    THANKS

  8. hi I just try this lemon with mint leaves detox since yesterday but since then I noticed I feel nauseated and even vomitted once after my firrst glass and I feel I not comfortable with my tummy feeling always hungry and acidic just want to know if this ok. should I continue. Is is normal reaction? Please I need advice since I have high cholesterol.

    1. Rose, Of course if you’re not feeling well or under the weather, stick to your normal routine until
      checking with your doctor.

    1. This is not meant to be a meal replacement. Drink this first thing in the morning then eat healthy meals the
      remainder of the day.

  9. Can I substitute the mint leaves with actual peppermint? And for the replacement of the mint with parsley do I use parsley flakes?

    1. There are studies showing that warm water in the morning is more easily absorbed by the body and is less a shock to the system. If the temperature of the water will have an impact on whether, or not, you drink the water at all, we believe that cold morning water is better than no morning water.

  10. Please what is the quantity of mint leave to be used in a day?also can I add cucumber to my lemon or lime and mint leave water?thanks

  11. Hello…i drink this juice but it gives me a head ache till evening…why? I was nervous coz its 10 p.m already but my head ache is still there…what shiuld i do…thanks…

    1. There is nothing in this recipe that should give you a headache, so it is our guess that it is being caused by something else. Have you also cut back or eliminated caffeine? Perhaps your morning coffee? As your body detoxes, you can experience headaches. They should be gone within a few days, however. If this is not the case, then you may want to speak to your doctor to get to the root of the cause.

  12. plz ans my que is it ok to drink mint water ,i just use mints leaves 2 cup and boil it in 2 jug of water when it remain 1 jug i cool it down and save in a bottle at room temperature for daily use ,in morning

  13. Hi, when I have this drink through out the day, i feel more hungry and feel like to eat more and more, so kept on eating at least every 30-40 mins once, could some one tell me what is the reason for this and why it causes like that but still i am drinking and eating more… thanks

    1. There is no reason why this drink should make you hungrier. It isn’t meant to be consumed as a meal replacement, though, so you should still eat a nutritional breakfast.

    1. Pooja, Yes, there is no reason why you couldn’t eat the mint and cucumber in the water, if you wanted to.

    1. Yes, drinking water with lemon in the morning will still help you detox. Because mint has additional detox properties, it will simply increase your detox power.

          1. For i jug of this mint lemon water, what should be the quantity of mint leaves?? And we can add some ginger and sonf in it as well or not??

  14. I don’t boil it or make it for the whole day.. I make it fresh … just take mint n ginger lemon juice n blend it.. n have it right away..is it OK?

  15. I use fresh mint daily – but a couple hours into the day the mint starts getting brown spots on it. Is this caused by the lemon??

    1. If you do prefer the mint leaves be torn, use your hands and not metal. Metal, sissors for example, damages the cell walls and causes the mint to break down faster. This is what typically causes browing too quickly. Also, it’s recommened to drink right away. Fresh is best! 🙂

  16. Hi Gale, I do use my finger to tear the leave from the stems. I continually add water to my container all day long. I drink approx. 80 -100 oz. of water a day.

  17. Is it ok to make water warm first n thn add lemon drops n mint n store it for d entire nite n drink d next day mornin ,would it be more effective

    1. We don’t recommend adding salt or honey to the water, as this extra sodium and sugars will diminish some of its value. If needed, you can serve it cold.

        1. Yes, even at night! The lemon and mint make this water refreshing – which is why is so amazing for any time of day.

    1. Hi Sia!

Either warm or cold mint and water will work! If you prefer a bottled water instead of line this will be fine. I recommend placing the detox water into the fridge – it’s much more refreshing served cold!

  18. I am liking the taste of the favoured water but my concern is its effect on fertility as I am trying to conceive. Does it have any adverse effect on conception?

    1. We are not aware of any effects that this recipe might have on conception, but it is always a good idea to check with your doctor before trying anything new.

  19. Hi frnds..happy to hear all ur comments.but i am little confused…pls suggest me a exact way to drink the mint and lemon mix…I have to grind it or just soak it..then how much..the quantities etc etc..pls help..coz I want to reduce my weight extremely. Pls suggest me an exact way.

    1. Priya, Add all the ingredients to 1 cups water (distilled preferred). The mint leaves greatly enhance the flavor so no need to chop them up. 🙂

  20. Hello!
This may be a stupid question, but do you mean spearmint leaves (like the gum) or mint leaves (the ones you can use like basil)?

Sorry I don’t cook so I hope this makes sense 🙁

    1. Hi Crystal,

We’re referring to Mint leaves (the ones you can use like basil). When you go to the store the label should read “mint”.

  21. Does it take the goodness away if you make the drink the night before and keep it in the fridge over night. therefore the drink will be relatively cold in the morning?

  22. I use dried mint leaves, cucumber, lemon, ginger, garlic but i don’t use cold things. is it effective if i don’t keep them in fridge. Can i add mint leaves to my salad.

  23. Tell me one thing do we need to drink it in one go or sip through slowly throughout the day? And also for how many days the same ingredients can be used

  24. Hi! As a child, mint grew at my Grandparents house, and we always would go pick leaves to add to our fresh brewed ice tea! I recently started doing this again, then just saw your post. I generally have a jug of room temp water I drink all day, if I know I’m going to consume it all that day, can I make one jug with just the room temp water, mint and lemon with no adverse effects? Thank you!

    1. Lisa, Perfer to refrigerate then pour a glass which can set for a few minutes at room temperature before drinking.

  25. I made a pitcher of water lemon and spearmint leaves I just threw a bunch of sprigs in there from my garden I add water to it everyday I keep the pitcher in my refrigerator how long can I keep the spearmint and the lemon in the pitcher adding water or does it need to be changed every day

  26. Thank you for sharing. Very interesting indeed. I used to take 1.5 litres of water every morning on waking up but now I have switched to mint, lemon and or lime hot water. I also have basil in my garden and sometimes I take lemon and mint only then in my bottle I put chunks of water melon, then cucumber, mint or ginger and fill my bottle with cold water and I take that during the morning on my desk until lunch time then I take my lunch – after lunch i boil water then slice some lemon add mint and sip on my desk and i can have these about 2 to 3 cups.I feel good, I feel light, and I am seeing very good results every day – i am so energetic and alert. Sometimes I add just lemon and fresh basil and sip on my desk. Thank you. Please keep sending us these natural and organic healthful tips.

    1. Hi, Sana. For the full detoxification benefits, you’ll want to follow this recipe without adding sugar and salt.

  27. After you finish the pitcher of water with lemon, mint and cucumber. can you reuse the cucumber, lemon and mint? And can you eat the cucumber after the second use?

    1. Hi, Frances. This particular beverage calls for lemon juice and fresh mint leaves. We recommend using fresh juice and mint for each pitcher.

  28. Hi sqeeze 6 lemons in day ,add 3 glass of water, add handful o fresh mint and I mix with a blender machine.i drink morning lunch time and at night before I sleep is it ok? Plz answer
