Sexy Fitness
Can your workout help your sex life? Can your sex life help your workout? The answers to both questions – Yes!
The following video explains why working out is good for your sex life and vice versa:
Having a healthy body, knowing how to move your pelvis and being connected to your body is beneficial for your sex life and the quality of your workouts.
Endorphins (aka the “happiness” hormones) that your body secretes during sex are similar to the hormones that runners can experience during a “Runners High” after a long run. When your body produces these hormones regularly through sex or exercise, there are positive effects on your metabolism that increase the rate in which your body burns calories.
To improve your sex life, try adding exercises to your workouts that strengthen your pelvic floor. Exercises included in ballet barre classes such as The Bar Method, Pure Barre and Barre3 target these important pelvic muscles:
- Bridge Pose (also called Back-Dancing, Pelvic Bridges or Pelvic Lifts) – remember back in the day when Jane Fonda’s Workout had everyone doing this move to “Bridge Over Troubled Water”? A timeless exercise because it works!
- The Pretzel – the most feared of all exercises, but it’s effective because it works muscles rarely used.
Try including some pelvic exercises in your next workout. Your partner will thank you and you’ll thank yourself.
