    1. Ty, I use 1 tablespoon for a pound of ground meat. If using more than one pound, increase by 1 teaspoon for every additional pound.

  1. I use this taco seasoning fairly regularly (grilled sandwiches, soup, chicken, etc.), and it's really good, I make a triple batch and seal it in a mason jar with my Foodsaver. We're not sodium reduced, but we just don't use a lot of salt. This works great and is cheaper and has less 'stuff' in it than packaged taco seasoning.

  2. Am I suppose to toast the cumin seed and grind them or do I add them to the other ingredients whole? Thank you for posting!

    1. Calmag, You can use the ground cumin you buy in the store. To get a stronger cumin flavor, you can toast them in a dry skillet on the stovetop over medium heat, stirring the whole time, for about 3 minutes until just fragrant but not burnt. Then you would grind them in a spice/coffee grinder.

  3. I know this may sound dumb, but how do I use the seasoning? For example, using ground turkey do I add the seasoning and some water? If so, how much water is recommended?

    1. Your question is not dumb at all. 🙂 We add the seasoning after we brown the turkey with a little water. You can also add this seasoning to soups and stews before heating.
