Will the recipe for Herb Crusted Turkey Breast work the same if the turkey breast is sliced? It's not cooked.
Janet – It may not need as long to cook, but it should work okay. Might be a tad bit on the dry side though.
Do you think I should add any liquid?
Janet – No, you don't need to. At least I didn't when I made it.
I made it with the sliced turkey breast fillets and it turned out great. Not dry at all. It did cook in about 3 hrs but it also was a total of about 2.3 lbs insread of 2.5.
Janet – Fabulous! We're happy it worked out!
Your picture shows the skin on the turkey – your recipe says take the skin off – how can you get it browned without the skin??
Judy, It should have said we removed skin before eating. Just made the correction…thanks! 🙂
Hi! For a larger turkey breast (5 lbs), would I just double the cooking time? Or would that be too long? Thanks!
Amanda, If the turkey fits in your slow cooker, you will need to cook it 1-2 hours longer. Be sure to check for doneness with the steps indicated in the recipe.
Was the turkey breast you used frozen? Just wondering if I should have it thawed out =)
Chelsea, Yes, you have to thaw the turkey in the fridge until totally defrosted before using here. Thanks for checking:).
What about turkey tenderloin
Reanna, We haven’t tried turkey tenderloin but it should work fine. Adjust the cooking time accordingly. 🙂
How long should a 24 ounce tenderloin be cooked?
Julie, Are you talking about a pork tenderloin and in the oven or slow cooker?
Would it be okay to use a breast without the bone?
Liz, That’s fine. We used breast on the bone for a more tender and moist recipe.
The recipe says it yields 3 servings, but the serving size says 1/6 of the recipe. Can you clarify please?
Becky, It has been corrected. This recipe makes about 6 servings.
Thisnisnprobably a dumb question, but do you put the plate in the slow cooker? I don’t know why you’d bother to dirty a plate otherwise???
You do not put the plate in the slow cooker. Once the chicken is prepped, add it to the slow cooker. 🙂
Did this for Thanksgiving. Came out really well, and took almost no effort. Would definitely do it again.
