Slow Cooker Molten Lava Cake

With clean and healthy ingredients, this Molten Lava Cake is made in the slow cooker to create a moist and tender dessert.

Ingredients

For the Cake

  • 5 eggs
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 2/3 cup pure maple syrup
  • 2/3 cup dark chocolate very dark, finely chopped

For the Ice Cream (Optional)

  • 4 bananas ripe, frozen
  • 1/4 cup cacao nibs

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, cocoa powder, and maple syrup. Pour into a 4 quart slow cooker. Sprinkle with chopped chocolate.
  • Cover and cook on high for 1-2 hours, or on low for 2-3 hours. Crockpot times will vary, so start checking your cake around 1 1/2 hours. You'll know it's done when the center is set, and springs back to the touch.
  • As soon as the cake is done, unplug the crockpot, and keep the cake covered until ready to serve.

  1. Sounds lovely, but still naughty … any idea on how this may work substituting the maple syrup (pure sugar) with rice malt syrup?
