  1. Tried this and it was amazing, especially warm right out of the crock pot! Do you by any chance have a recipe for making natural, sugar free apple butter?

  2. Cheryl, Follow the recipe and simply leave out any added sweetener. It’s delish w/o the sugar. 🙂

    1. Angelle, Yes, just be sure to leave some space at the top of the jar as it will expand when frozen.

  3. I made my own version and if you use golden delicious its naturally sweeter. I also cut my apple very chunky and add a little brown sugar, cinnamon and lemon juicy. It tastes like apple pie when you take it out.

  4. I only have Granny Smith and McIntosh. Will I get good results if I use these or should i go to the store and get the ones suggested in the recipe?

  5. This is the only applesauce I ever use. It tastes much better than anything you can buy, and it's so simple to make. I usually add even more apples (fills crock pot to the top). I use a potato masher to get the consistency we like, which is a little chunky. And it keeps for a long time. Thanks for this recipe.

    1. Vanessa, I peeled them but it’s not necessary…they just blend in with the applesauce. I’ve actually done it both ways. 🙂

  6. 5 smart points per serving? There is no sugar in the recipe, how do you arrive at 5 pts., I calculated 0 points per serving.

    1. Debbie, I recalculated and still get 5 Smart Points. It’s the naturally occuring sugar that puts the points at 5.

  7. I thought that apple sauce was 0points since its fruit? I have not been counting the unsweetened apple sauce cups I have been eating.

  8. So how many ww freestyle points? If I calculate it with apples, cinnamon and nutmeg, it’s 0.

    1. Hi Danielle. Unfortunately this recipe is not 0 points. In this recipe apples are not a zero point ingredient. In recipes like applesauce and smoothies you typically eat more than what you would when just eating a raw apple.
