3-Day Soup Detox

You won't starve on this detox!

Eat it, sip it, or drink it! Instead of a juice detox, try a detox plan that incorporates foods that are both cleansing and filling. We’ve carefully selected recipes for the 3-Day Soup Detox that are packed with nutrients and antioxidants.

This detox is designed to cleanse the body of toxins which accumulate from eating overly processed foods, artificial sweeteners, refined sugar and flour, hormone based dairy and meats, and other commercially made foods. Even our Tomato Basil Soup is made using fresh tomatoes!

Each day, choose from the following detox options: 2 morning detox drinks, 5 soup recipes, and 3 snacks. All of the options are made without dairy, grains, soy, added sweeteners, meat, or gluten.

It is important to drink water throughout the day. We recommend either spring, purified, or distilled water. Depending on your body weight, it’s recommended that you drink between 64 and 80 ounces of water daily.

Protein Packed Black Bean and Lentil Soup Recipe

Soups

Choose one serving from the options below for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Make one or more soups, alternating or having the same soups for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We do recommend including either options 2 or 5 as one of your daily soups because of the additional protein.

Option 1:  Tomato Basil Soup
Fresh tomatoes and bright basil make this simple soup refreshing and satisfying.

Option 2:  Lentil Kale Soup
What’s not to love about healthy greens and lentils in a savory broth?

Option 3: Thai Roasted Sweet Potato Soup
Creamy, sweet, and full of warm curry flavor, this soup is as nourishing as it is delicious.

Option 4:  Roasted Cauliflower Soup
Roasting cauliflower brings out its flavor. Pureeing it into a soup makes that flavor extra concentrated!

Option 5:  Protein-Packed Lentil and Black Bean Soup
Just because you are detoxing, doesn’t mean that you can’t fill up on this hearty soup!

  1. With the snack for the berry option do you eat the nuts in addition to the other fruit choices or just the berries?

  2. I gained weight over the three days. I’m about 5’1″ and 135 lbs. I gained about 4 lbs! Followed everything – except maybe not drinking quite as much water? I did drink at least 45 oz of water each day and the only other thing I drank during the 3 days was plain hot green tea. Bummed and don’t know why it didn’t work for me 🙁

    1. Aria, Unless you plan to give up coffee or tea, it’s fine to have a cup. I would recommend not adding sweeteners or dairy for the 3 days. Try a little unsweented Almond Milk, if you don’t care for black coffee. I love “SO Delicious” brand. 🙂

  3. Review: I spent about 4-5 hours in the kitchen on Sunday night preparing for this cleanse because I wanted all the soups just ready. I wouldn’t say I was STARVING like I think I might be on some cleanses. There were times I was like ahhh want food *chug water* but other times I’d be very full after the soup (like dinner) and be surprised that I would have eaten x3 that quantity previously. Feels really cool to have gone 3 days without eating a single ingredient that I didn’t make myself or know what was in there! I loved all the soups except the thai curry was a little too sweet and the cauliflower was only ok.

So I lost a few pounds which was an added bonus (I’m an average build 25 yr old)! I can’t say I felt DRAMATIC energy increases or feel super healthy or anything since it’s only 3 days but I am hooked on coffee and didn’t need any for 3 days.

    1. Kathy, After careful review of the Shakeologoy ingredients, the only objectable ingredient is Frutose, which is listed under “Other Ingredients”. As you know, fructose is drived from fruit, but is another name for sugar. I would suggest googling “fructose” and researching this ingredient a little further before making a final judgement call. 🙂

  4. I’m just finishing day 2 and I didn’t go to toilet yesterday or today. I never had a problem with this and I also went to the gym both days. It’s not very pleasant. Any reason why I might be constipated? Thank you.

    1. Norish, There are many options listed that are high in fiber. For the final day, I would recommend a soup with legumes.

  5. Hi Gale,

Thank you, last day I’ve had bean and lentil soup which was delicious and I was very pleased with results: 1.2kg less, I’ve lost 2.5cm from my waist, 1.5% overall fat and gained 0.7% muscle – not bad at all in 3 days! I am feeling full of energy and light – I recommended this to all my friends and I am sure I will do it more often, hopefully once a month.

    1. Andrea, It’s really up to you. Just make sure you’re getting enough to eat and aren’t feeling overly hungry.

    1. Sandy, I’ve done this detox up to 7 days without any issues. If you do more than 3 days, make sure you have plenty of energy.

  6. I’m on day 2. Anyone else have headaches/lightheadedness? I have had a cup of coffee with coconut milk each morning, so it isn’t caffeine withdrawal. Loving the 3 soups I made (cauliflower, sweet potato, lentil/black bean). Thanks

  7. We’ve just started the cleanse today, but so far, can absolutely say that both the roasted cauliflower soup and the Thai Sweet Potato Soup will become regular rotations for us! I highly recommend!
