Give your furry friend a healing, moisturizing, all-natural bath!
Our furry friends collect dirt and grime on a daily basis, and although we can’t clean them as frequently as we clean ourselves, it’s important that we give them as natural a bath as possible when we do. This DIY pet shampoo is perfect for dogs or cats and will keep them moisturized without unnecessary and unnatural ingredients.
Key Ingredients & Why They Work:
Apple Cider Vinegar – Apple cider vinegar (ACV) has numerous topical benefits. From helping to restore the pH balance of itchy or problem skin on your pet’s coat to relieving arthritis, and most importantly repelling fleas, you can skip the extra products and utilize ACV for a 3-in-1 product.
Oatmeal – Oatmeal is great for soothing skin and acting as an exfoliant.
Castille Soap – Castille soap is an organic mild soap which contains coconut, olive oil, and various healthy oils. This helps to contribute to a good lather, while also providing natural oils to moisturize your pet’s coat. You can purchase various scents if you want to add a special smell to your pet’s bath.
What to Do:
1. Use a grinder to blend 1 cup of oats into a powder of smaller grains.
2. In an empty bottle (preferable 2 liters or more), add the oatmeal, 1 cup of apple cider vinegar, 1/2 of warm water, 1 cup of castille soap and mix the ingredients thoroughly.
3. As needed apply the shampoo to your pet and lather up!

I’ve noticed a big change in Portia’s coat too once we brought her home and started feeding her a different food and bathing her the way we do Bentley, so I definitely think good dietary and grooming habits play a HUGE part in how your pet’s coat is. I tried DIY shampoo and its really good.
I live in South Africa. What other soap could I use. We don’t get castle soap here. Thanks
