No stores around me carry whole wheat "pastry" flour. Can anything be substituted?
Order online via Amazon: Whole Wheat Pastry Flour here (only $3.65 for a 48oz bag): http://amzn.to/JkzL0t.
Living in a small town, short of ordering off of Amazon, there isn't a way to get Almond milk or pastry flour. What would the suggested substitutions be?
Hello Emmmmerz. We suggest ordering the products online via Amazon: Almond Milk: http://amzn.to/I2i1YT and Whole Wheat Pastry Flour here (only $3.65 for a 48oz bag): http://amzn.to/JkzL0t.
I also live in a small town and shop the organic section at Kroger for Almond milk. However, you can also use regular milk or soy in place of Almond. You should be able to find "White Whole Wheat Flour" at Walmart or other grocery stores…it's now readily available. If they have King Arthur, that's the brand I'd recommend. Thanks!
How many servings does this recipe make?
Shannon, 8 if you eat only one or 4 for 2.
Michele, I’m not sure where you are seeing those numbers. The yield depends on the size of the pancake. The nutritional data is based on one medium sized pancake.
I made a similar recipe recently but with zucchini added in. add 2cups of zucchini and reduce the almond milk to about 1/2 cup. 1/2tsp of cinnamon and all spice each. Kids and hubby loved them!
did you ever get an answer? That is what I want to know as it does not say how many pancakes it is supposed to make. 🙁
Skihee, It makes about 10 servings of one pancake each or 5 if eating two.
Is there any way to make a gluten-free version of these?
Yes…here you go! https://skinnyms.com/gluten-free-blueberry-pancake…
What exactly is "Old-Fashioned" about almond milk and whole wheat pastry flour?
Is one pancake equal to 1/4 cup of batter? If so, I usually get about 9 servings (I combine it to make 4 bigger pancakes and one single serving one).
Did you change this recipe? I had it down in my WW mobile app as having no fat, 6 carbs, 1g fibre and 1g of protein (which meant only 1 WW pt per 1/4 cup serving).
Sharon, I'm not sure what may have happened. These are the correct calculations.
