Slow Cooker Pomegranate Spiced Applesauce

This tart applesauce can be paired with a protein such as pork or can be eaten as is and with whole ingredients and lots of nutrients, this dish is a winner!

Equipment

  • Recommend 4-5 quart slow cooker.

Ingredients

  • 4 granny smith Apples peeled and cored
  • 2 whole cloves
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup sucanat substitute with coconut palm sugar or honey
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup 100% pomegranate juice no sugar added

Instructions

  • Slice apples into quarters and add to the slow cooker along with the remaining ingredients. Cover and cook on low 6 to 8 hours or until apples are chunk consistency.
  • Remove cloves and serve.
