Sweet and Savory Orange-Cranberry Sauce
Sweet and savory orange-cranberry sauce is the absolute best way to treat family and friends during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.
Servings: 6 people
- 1 bag fresh cranberries
- 2/3 cup juice from two oranges
- 1 tablespoon orange zest (or, zest from two oranges)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2/3 cup cane sugar (optional coconut sugar)
- 1/3 cup water
Heat all ingredients over medium heat until simmering. Reduce heat and simmer on low heat for 20-25 minutes or until cranberries are soft, and liquid is reduced and thickened.
Smash cranberries into liquid, leaving some of them whole.
Allow to cool to room temperature then refrigerate until chilled and very thick, at least 4 hours.
