  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 cup yellow onion diced
  • 2 carrots peeled and diced
  • 2 celery stalks diced
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried sage
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 2 apples medium, diced
  • 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
  • 1 1/2 cups chicken broth or vegetable, warm
  • 1 tablespoon sage fresh, chopped

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  • In a large skillet, heat oil on medium heat. Add onion, carrot, celery, and garlic. Cook, stirring occasionally until tender and onions are translucent. Stir in thyme, sage, rosemary, apples, and maple syrup. Stir well to combine.
  • In a large bowl, mix together bread cubes, fresh sage, and apple mixture. Toss to combine. Stir in broth, about 1/4 cup at a time. Stuffing should be moist, not wet or mushy. Spoon into a 9"x13" casserole dish sprayed with nonstick spray. Bake for about 20 minutes until top is light brown and crunchy.
