Ingredients

  • 1/4 pound ground turkey
  • 1/4 cup sweet onion diced
  • 15 ounces kidney beans can, drained and rinsed
  • 14 1/2 ounces diced tomatoes can, low-sodium
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • pinch red pepper flakes optional for spicy chili
  • 1/4 cup tomato juice
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  • Cook the turkey and diced onion in a skillet on medium heat, breaking it up into small chunks. Cook until the meat is no longer pink. Drain off the excess fat and discard.
  • Add the cooked meat and the remaining ingredients to a 2- or 3-quart slow cooker. Cook on low for 6-8 hours.
