Ingredients

  • 16 ounces feta cheese block
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 5 tablespoons breadcrumbs
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme leaves
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika divided
  • ¼ cup raw honey
  • ½ teaspoon red chili flakes

Instructions

Feta Sticks

  • Preheat the oven to 350° F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Rinse the feta, dry it with a paper towel, and cut it into 1-inch slices.
  • Next, prepare a plate with the breadcrumbs and a plate the beaten eggs. Add half a teaspoon of dried thyme and half a teaspoon of smoked paprika to the bread crumbs and mix well.
  • Dip the feta cheese slices into the egg first and then into the breadcrumbs, making sure to coat all sides evenly, including the ends.
  • Lay your breaded chunks on the prepared sheet pan and drizzle the cheese with extra virgin olive oil.
  • Bake for 15 minutes, or until golden brown, turning slices halfway through to get an even crust.

Hot Honey Dip

  • In a small saucepan, add the honey and heat it over a low flame for a few minutes, without reaching a boil.
  • When it has a liquid consistency and creates steam, remove from heat and add the red chili flakes and half a teaspoon of smoked paprika. Stir well.
  • Let the honey dip cool and drizzle over your feta sticks right before serving.

Notes

You can use any leftover dip for up to two weeks by keeping it in an airtight jar in the refrigerator.
