- 1 Large Sweet Potato washed and peeled
Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C).
Slice into 1/4-inch rounds. Alternatively, you can also cut into strips, similar to French fries, for a chewier treat.
Place the sweet potato slices on a parchment-lined baking sheet, ensuring they are evenly spaced and not touching each other. This allows for proper air circulation during the dehydration process.
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake the sweet potato slices for 3 hours. After 3 hours, flip the slices to ensure uniform dehydration, and continue baking for an added 3 hours until they are dry and leathery.
Once the sweet potato slices are fully dehydrated, remove them from the oven and allow them to cool completely.
Store the dehydrated sweet potato dog treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 weeks. For longer shelf-life, you can store them in the refrigerator or freezer for up to 3 months.
