Add a little extra flavor to your morning with this sweet and healthy toasted coconut coffee syrup!

I have a friend who always orders her coffee extra extra. That’s extra cream, extra sugar. Another friend who is a barista once broke it down for us, and let’s just say it’s hard to imagine there’s any room left for actual coffee in that order. Like so many of us, my friend likes her coffee a little on the sweet side. Nothing wrong with that. But if you’re looking for healthier ways to satisfy your morning sweet tooth, there are ways to sweeten your coffee that aren’t quite so, well, extra. This healthy toasted coconut coffee sweetener adds rich, nutty flavor and natural sweetness to your morning cup of joe.

A Little Pick Me Up

Toasted Coconut Coffee Sweetener

Coffee is one of my most important daily rituals. It’s a guaranteed bright spot in my morning that I try never to deprive myself of. As someone with a major sweet tooth, fun coffee flavors and syrups are a delicious way for me to sweeten up my morning. I have my year-round go-tos: vanilla, almond, and mocha for when the chocolate cravings hit. But I’m also always down to try whatever new seasonal or novelty flavors a coffee shop has on the menu.

While you’ll never find me willing to part with my morning coffee completely, there are times when I have to cut back on the sweet stuff.

Fortunately, this doesn’t have to mean endless mornings of boring, bitter black coffee. It also doesn’t mean I have to resort to artificial sweeteners full of chemicals and who knows what else. There are plenty of healthy, natural at home coffee syrups and sweeteners that get the job done.

Nuts for Coconuts

Toasted Coconut Coffee Sweetener

I love to switch up my coffee order with the seasons. Pumpkin spice for fall, something sweet and festive for the holidays, etc. This toasted coconut coffee sweetener is my new go-to now that summer is around the corner. It has a delicious coconut flavor that’s refreshing and summery in an iced coffee, and warm and toasty if you like it hot.

And unlike a lot of coconut flavored things that end up tasting more like fake, “coconut-inspired” chemicals, this healthy, natural recipe tastes like real coconut.

This is primarily because, go figure, it IS real coconut. This simple at home recipe uses just four healthy, natural ingredients: unsweetened shredded coconut, coconut sugar, honey, and water. Together, these ingredients make a sweet and simple syrup that flavors and sweetens for a morning treat you can feel good about.

If a sweet and flavorful morning coffee is a pick me up you just can’t live without, have no fear. With this healthy toasted coconut coffee sweetener, cutting back doesn’t have to mean cutting out the best part of your morning.
