9 Ways to Spring Clean Your Life

Spring cleaning takes on a whole new meaning when you apply to your life.

Warmer weather is finally here! While many of us take some time to clean out our houses or yards, it can be all too easy to forget to spring clean your own life! Us busy women take care of everyone and everything around us and sometimes completely forget about taking care of ourselves. This spring, take some me-time and focus on these 9 Ways to Spring Clean Your Life!

1. Get rid of sugar.
Even “fake” sugar (Splenda, Stevia). The benefits? Fewer added calories, clearer skin, a smaller waistline…need we I say more?

2. Drink more tea.
Green tea, black tea, peppermint tea, whatever you like! Just drink it! It will speed up your metabolism while calming your body and mind.

3. Add one fruit and one vegetable to your diet each day.
Try to mix it up from day to day, too. The more colorful your diet is, the better your health will be. Try something new!

4. Drink more water.
Women need about nine 8-ounce glasses each day, and even more if you’re exercising. Try setting an alarm on your phone or computer to remind yourself to take some sips throughout the day.

5. Let the light in!
Even if it’s still cold outside, open up the blinds and let some sunshine into your life. Light a few tropical-scented candles. Make your home inviting after a long workout!

6. Try something new.
Branch out of your typical workout routine. Have you ever tried Zumba? Spinning? TRX? Water aerobics? Try it TODAY! Keeping your body guessing will keep the results coming and keep you from getting bored with your workouts.

7. Clean!
Set aside a day this weekend to clean out an overlooked closet, your refrigerator, and your pantry. Chances are there are some items in each of them that have gone unused for far too long. Out with the old, in with the (cute/healthy) new!

8. Chop chop…how about a haircut?!
Freshen up for spring with a new look. Use it as a reward for sticking with 6 weekly workouts for 3 weeks straight!

9. Close your eyes and focus on your breathing (and nothing else) for at least 2 minutes. It’ll reduce stress and anxiety and make you more focused to face the day.
