Think about the difference between saying “I can’t eat that” and saying “I don’t eat that”. Notice anything? Which option sounds more convincing? When you say I DON’T, you take ownership over your dietary choices and reaffirm to yourself that you are capable and determined to meet your goals.

2. Stick to the Plan

When you’re trying to lose weight, temptations lurk behind every corner. Sure, high fat/high calorie foods can pack on the pounds, but that doesn’t mean you have to say farewell to all of your favorite treats. Moderation is key. Make a healthy eating plan that allows for a little indulgence now and then and you will be much more likely to stay on track. Perhaps, you’ll allow yourself to enjoy a few slices of pizza on Friday nights, but you’ll eat healthy during the week. You should also have a plan for when surprise treats pop up.
