Tricks For Maintaining Your Weight

Keep your desired weight with these tips!

Once you’ve reached your goal weight, you must begin to maintain it. Some argue that maintaining weight is just as big of a challenge as losing weight. Here are some tips that may help.

After breakfast, drink water.Go ahead a drink a glass of orange juice or a cup of coffee with your breakfast. However, throughout the rest of the day, make sure you keep hydrated by drinking lots of water. You want to eat your calories, not drink them. The average American drinks 245 calories a day. That’s 90,000 calories a year. Limit yourself to water and you won’t have to worry about consuming any extra calories.

Eat five or six small meals a day.Eating smaller meals more often helps speed up your metabolism, helps you control your portions and prevents you from over eating.

Walk for 45 minutes a day.
Finding time to walk on a daily basis is very crucial to maintaining your ideal weight. 45 minutes of walking combined with a well balanced diet can prevent you from ever gaining unwanted weight again.

Get smaller plates. The less food you put in front of you, the less you’ll eat. If you use smaller plates, you’ll take less food meaning you’ll eat less and not consume the unnecessary calories.

Eat more vegetables and less pasta salad.
Just because it is called pasta “salad” doesn’t mean it’s good for you. Pasta salad is usually loaded with extra calories and fat. Have a bigger helping of vegetables to keep yourself from filling yourself up with pasta.

Forget the fancy drinks, stick with coffee.
When you are at the coffee shop, stay away from the fancy stuff. Stick to plain old black coffee. The fancier the drink, the more calories it contains.

Eat only when you are hungry.Your body will let you know when it is hungry. If you are not hungry, don’t eat. It is easy to eat out of boredom or nervousness. It is so common that many of us have actually forgotten what actual hunger feels like. You need to remember that there is a huge difference between a craving and hunger. If you have a hankering for a specific food, that is a craving. Drink a tall glass of water and that craving will typically go away.

Don’t skip meals.
Skipping meals slows down your metabolism and causes overeating later on.

Weigh yourself regularly.Being aware of your weight will help prevent weight gain. You’ll always be aware of how much you weigh so there won’t ever be any surprises when you step on the scale. While many people weigh once per week, every 2-4 weeks can be just as effective. But for more a more accurate gauge, use a tape measure. Measurements will usually tell you more than the scale will. The idea here is simply to check in regularly in some way.

Keep a positive attitude and enjoy your body! You worked so hard to get to your goal weight, so enjoy it! Buy a hot new outfit or take some new pictures just for the hell of it! You deserve it!
