What is the Color Run?
The Color Run is a one of a kind experience that is less about speed and more about enjoying a color crazy day with your friends and family. The events, are all about people of all different speeds, ages, shapes, and sizes toeing the start line. Whether you are a casual morning mall walker or an Olympic athlete, the 3 miles of the Color Run course will be the most enjoyable real estate you’ve traveled in a VERY long time. You will love this Color Dash of fun!
How does it work?
The Color Run pretty much has 2 SIMPLE rules. 1. White shirts (any mostly white T will work great) mandatory at the start line and 2. Color plastered EVERYTHING at the finish! Runner/walkers begin the 5k at the start line like a brand new pristine coloring book, they end looking like they fell into a Willy Wonka… tie dyed… vat of colored goodness.
What is the Color?
Each kilometer of the event is associated with a designated color. 1k is yellow, 2k is blue, 3k is green, 4k is pink, and the 5k finish is a “Color Extravaganza.” As the runners/walkers hit the Kilometer COLOR RUN Zones, they will be blitzed by our volunteers, sponsors, and staff with COLOR. The color is a special “elf made” recipe of magical color dust. All products are 100% natural and safe. You can eat the stuff if you’d like (we have tried it and don’t suggest it, it is surprisingly high in calories and leaves a chalky aftertaste).

I'm doing the Houston run. My kids were so excited at the idea of running with me, but it was sold out at that point. Boo for my kids. Yay for the run being sold out and having full support toward Expedition Balance. I'm in! I did the Color Run here in the Ypsilanti/Ann Arbor area last month and there were a ton of children. I did it with my girlfriends this time, but my own three daughters would have a blast! 🙂

This is an amazingly fun race! Just did the Sacramento one at the beginning of August with my boys and can't wait to do it again. I would truly love to do this with my 14 yr old friplets. I work hard at instilling physical fitness to them.and they see me get up and run early most days. The fees for these races really rack up. I have never been able to take all three. To do it together would be a terrific achievement and wonderfully fun experience for them to participate in. YES! My husband has been doing weight watchers and training for a half marathon in October. He is within 15 lbs of his target weight. The race in Houston is on his birthday and I would LOVE to take him.

My sister and I run together and my mom walks 5Ks. Iif we won this we'd get my dad or husband to be our 4th; my husband used to run but hasn't for some time. We need some family time together. I tried to sign up for the Stl. color run about 2 months before it occured but it was already full. I was so disappointed! A couple of my friends did it and said it was sooooo fun/amazing. I did a 5K in Atlanta when I traveled there for work, and my sister and I are going to run the Orange Beach Running Club 5K route when we're in Alabama this week. I would LOVE to add this to the runs I've traveled and done. Start of a new goal, traveling to run in cities all over the U.S? I like it!!!!! I turned 50 this year and have never been a runner. I have been working at it over the last year and am up to 3 miles. It is a huge goal of mine to run a 5k before I turn 51. A 5k was on our summer bucket list. I have a 9 year old and 12 year old. I want to be/stay in shape to stay young for them!

I found out about the color run and I am going to do it- this will be my first ever run! I started exercising last Nov and have been using a treadmill for running and after deciding to do this run I have been running outdoors to condition my body for the different elements of outdoor excercise. I would live to win these tickets!
My almost 7 year old and I started doing 5k's together at the beginning of the year and we have had so much fun! He amazes me every race by improving more and more. We even got my sister to join us in our last race. We are going to surprise my son this next year and take him to do the Color Run in Dallas with my sister, myself, and we are finally gonna get my hubby in on a run with us.
