If you’re looking for a quick, flavorful veggie side that doesn’t involve deep frying, let me introduce you to my go-to instant pot seasoned green beans. This easy recipe comes together in under 10 minutes, makes the perfect weeknight vegetable side dish, and honestly? It tastes way more indulgent than it is. Tender, savory, and topped with a little crunch, it’s one of my favorite healthy green beans recipes to keep on repeat.

Why I Love Making Green Beans in the Instant Pot

Fresh green beans in the Instant Pot turn out perfectly tender every time. No babysitting a pan, no worrying about overcooking.

Green beans themselves are packed with vitamins A, C, and K, plus fiber and manganese. I love that I can make a flavorful side dish that actually supports my health goals. Unlike deep frying (which strips away a lot of nutrients), cooking green beans in the Instant Pot keeps things lighter while still delivering that savory, satisfying taste.

If you’re trying to add more vegetables to your meals without feeling like you’re “just eating veggies,” this seasoned green beans in Instant Pot recipe is such an easy win.

Ingredients Needed

Main ingredients needed for instant pot green beans

Simple ingredients, big flavor. That’s my kind of cooking. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 pound green beans, trimmed
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon granulated garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese

How I Make Instant Pot Seasoned Green Beans

Green beans and other ingredients in a mixing bowl

One of the reasons I keep coming back to these instant pot seasoned green beans is how ridiculously easy they are.

First, I pour 1/4 cup of water into the bottom of the Instant Pot. While that’s ready, I toss my trimmed green beans in a bowl with olive oil, Italian seasoning, granulated garlic, and salt. I make sure everything is evenly coated so every bite has that garlicky, savory flavor.

Next, I place the green beans on the wire rack inside the pot. Lid goes on, valve set to sealing, and I pressure cook on high for just 2 minutes. That’s it.

When the timer goes off, I do a manual release, carefully remove the green beans with tongs, and transfer them to a serving bowl. Then comes the best part: I sprinkle on the seasoned breadcrumbs and grated parmesan cheese and toss everything together.

The result? A simple seasoned green beans recipe that tastes like it took way more effort than it actually did.
