  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 cups (1 pint) halved cherry tomatoes
  • 1 bunch Italian kale (the dark green flat kale, also called Tuscan kale), cleaned, tough ribs removed, and torn or chopped into large pieces
  • 1/2 cup chopped white or yellow onions
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons water or vegetable/chicken broth
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher or sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper


  1. Sauté onions in olive oil over medium heat, for about 5 to 8 minutes, until onions are softened and translucent.
  2. Add 3 tablespoons water or broth to the pan. Add broccoli. Add kale on top of broccoli. Cover.
  3. Steam over medium heat for about 5 minutes.
  4. Stir in the salt and pepper, tomatoes, and garlic. Cook for an additional 3 minutes.
  5. Serve and enjoy!

      Yes! There is also zucchini in the photo, you can add any veggies to the recipe and it would taste delicious!
