Brown eyes are gorgeous. Makeup can help you draw attention to your dark eyes and make them appear larger than they are. When applying makeup to brown eyes, there are certain tricks that accentuate their natural beauty. Everything matters when applying your eye makeup. You need to make sure you’re using the right colored liner and shadows to get the most out of your look. Read below to learn ten amazing makeup tips for brown eyes. With these tips, your eyes will be the center of attention!

1. Metallic Shades

10 Amazing Makeup Tips for Brown Eyes1
Flaunt those brown beauties with metallic shades! These shimmery tones contrast strikingly against brown eyes, drawing a lot of attention to the color and causing them to glow. Perfect for a night out, metallic makeup is an absolute must when you want to hit the town and make a statement. We love this Metallic Eye Shadow Cosmetic Kit! It comes with multiple colors made of high-quality ingredients for a lasting, silky shine you’ll adore.

2. Natural Shades

10 Amazing Makeup Tips for Brown Eyes2
More often than not, people tend to shove aside their neutrals to avoid looking bland and blah. In reality, these organic tones have quite the opposite effect, enhancing color and giving them a stunning finish. Natural shades can bring out the color in your eyes while giving off that sexy, effortless vibe. When it comes to nude colors, you can’t go wrong with W7’s “In the Buff.” The 12-toned palette comes with a gorgeous spectrum of natural colors ranging from pale to deep. Brown eyes already have dimension to them, so pairing them with neutral colors will help them stand out!

3. Make concealer your friend

10 Amazing Makeup Tips for Brown Eyes3
This terrific tip will have you fooling everyone into thinking you got a full night’s beauty sleep even if you’re running on none! Dark circles detract from brown eyes. Concealer banishes undereye circles and brings out those baby browns, especially in the light. Simply spot some concealer underneath your bottom lids and watch your eyes go from blah to bold. For flawless coverage every time, try Avon’s Concealer Stick!

4. Bright Blue Liner

10 Amazing Makeup Tips for Brown Eyes
Most eye colors can’t pull of the blue liner look, but brown eyes are the gorgeous exception. Blue illuminates and lightens the brown in your eyes and complements the rich tones and hues. Use on your lower or upper lash lines for flaunt-worthy eyes that are simply electric. Flaunt that bright-eyed look with CoverGirl’s Perfect Blend Eye Pencil in Cobalt Blue, great for smoky looks and velvety-smooth smudges.

5. Purple Liner

10 Amazing Makeup Tips for Brown Eyes5
Step away from ordinary black pencils and break out the purple! Plum ranks high on the list of alluring colors to pair with brown eyes. Violet shades enhance brown eyes, giving their hints and hues a magnificent effect. The jewel-like color is super complementary with a perfect level of depth and richness to make your peepers sparkle. For smooth, sexy lines that last all day, give Maybelline’s Line Stylist Eyeliner a try. We promise you’ll fall in love!

6. White Shimmer

10 Amazing Makeup Tips for Brown Eyes6
People often overlook the power of white liners, dismissing them as too eccentric or clownish. In reality, the right amount of white can suit brown eyes beautifully while giving off that subtle, sexy look. White shimmer highlights brown eyes, giving them a sparkling effect while making the whites in your eyes appear brighter. We absolutely love L.A. Minerals Shimmer Mineral Eye Shadow. Gorgeous, pearlescent shimmer gives your eyes that sparkling snow white effect and serves as a foolproof highlighter or eye brightener.

8. Shimmery Green Shadow

Green will give you a very dramatic nighttime look. Emerald shadow gloriously complements brown eyes and brings out their hazel flecks, making them sparkle and shine. Cream, matte, metallic – however you like it, green shadow is a tote bag must-have for all you brown eyed babes out there! 9. Cat Eye

10 Amazing Makeup Tips for Brown Eyes8
The cat eye line is suitable for both daytime and evening occasions and enhances any eye shape or color! For steady precision and flawless results, go with a liquid eyeliner. For thin, meticulous lines, apply an eyeshadow primer or oil-free foundation beforehand. Sophisticated and unique, the cat eye is one of those classic looks bound to capture the attention of an entire room! We love Lauren Taylor’s Liquid Eyeliner for ultra fine or bold lines.

10. Dark Mascara

10 Amazing Makeup Tips for Brown Eyes9
Give your eyes some serious dimension by applying a couple extra coats of mascara! Long, luscious lashes make brown eyes rich, alluring, and mysterious. Because brown eyes contain multiple color tones, you don’t need dramatic mascara colors to create beautiful contrast. Use simple, dark shades like Maybelline’s Blackest Black Falsies Mascara for truly flattering eyes that’ll definitely draw a lot of attention.

      1. Use a neutral shadow on the lid, a light bronze or gold works well, or even an opal color shadow. On deep set brown eyes, use a shadow fairly close to your natural skin tone. 2. If pencil or liquid liners tend to smear, instead use a dark brown or charcoal eye shadow. Apply the shadow with a liner brush and be sure to get as near to the lash line as possible. Extend the shadow liner slightly beyond the lash line. Accentuating the outer corners will bring your deep set eyes to life! 3. Use an eyelash curler and curl from the base of the lash. 4. Apply two coats of mascara to the top lashes and one coat to the bottom.

Give it a try, you’ll love the look. 🙂

Sara, By blending two of these eyeshadows, you can achieve the same look. Lightly apply that darkest shadow, then apply the brown next to it. I love these colors because you can easily lighten and darken your eyeshadow look.

It sure was nice to know that green eyeshadows can be used if you want to achieve a very dramatic nighttime look because they can complement brown eyes. My sister and I are planning to shop for eyeshadow palettes. We both have brown eyes, so we wanted to find out how we can make our night eyeshadows extra special to highlight our eyes. Thanks for sharing this.

I have dirty brown eyes as in they are not so bright unless I take my glasses off or am in daylight and ppl say oh, you have brown eyes! When I don’t get sleep they look watery and tired. How to get them to look whiter and cheater? More distinct – without doing tons of concealer and eye liner ?

Sleep is the best answer. Occasionally eye drops should help.
