10 Moves to Master for a Beach Body

Get ready for the beach with these ten moves!

Are you spending time at the beach, pool, or lake this summer? Getting active as the temperatures rise? These 10 moves will tone every inch of your body, getting it ready for the summer season! By working the large and small muscle groups in your body, these beach body moves tighten, lift, and sculpt all-over. That leaves you with the ultimate beach body, fast! You can complete these moves as a circuit, performing one after the other, or add them to your own workout routine. Let’s burn some fat and sculpt that hot summer body!

10 Moves to Master for a Beach Body

1. Push-ups

Push-ups are a great combination exercise that tone your arms, chest, back, shoulders, and abs. This combination workout technique will help you incinerate fat quickly! On a mat or towel, lower down into a plank position. From here, bend your elbows out to the side and lower your entire body towards the ground. Exhale as you press yourself back up. You can also lower your knees to the ground for a modified version of this toning exercise.

2. Squats

If a firm, sculpted booty is on your beach body wishlist, squats are the way to go! With your feet hip width apart, bend your knees and sit your booty back. Press back up to straight legs by placing your weight in your heels. To get the most out of your squats, squeeze your glutes tightly at the top of each squat.

3. Forward Lunges

Forward lunges are one of the best exercises for defined, sleek legs. Step one foot forward and bend both of your knees 90 degrees. Press yourself up to straightened legs by placing your weight in your front heel. These lunges burn fat and sculpt the muscles in the front of your legs- perfect for showing off in your swim suit!

4. Lateral Lunges

Say goodbye to saddlebags! Lateral lunges will tone up your backside, legs, and outer thighs; helping you shimmy right in to your favorite shorts. In this version of a lunge, you’ll step one leg out to the side and bend into that knee. Then, straighten your leg back and step it back to starting position.

5. Planks

No beach body is complete without fabulous flat abs! Planks strengthen and tone your entire core, making them an essential beach body move. Hold your plank on your forearms or hands, just be sure to keep your body in a straight line.

6. Triceps Dips

Triceps dips will take the jiggle out from under your arms, and who doesn’t want that?! You can use a bench, chair, or table for tricep dips. Simply stand facing away from your “bench,” place your hands on the bench with your fingertips facing your body, and bend your elbows straight back, lowering your body. When you press back up to straighten your arms, you’ll work the muscle down the back of your arm, toning it right up!

7. Hammer Curls

To sculpt the rest of your envious arms, grab a pair of medium weight dumbbells and crank out some hammer curls! Hammer curls are similar to normal bicep curls, but this workout technique will tone your arms at a whole other angle. With your palms facing each other, curl your weights up towards your shoulders. As you lower your weights back down, be sure to keep your speed slow and controlled.

8. Fire Hydrants

This fun beach body move sculpts you one fabulous backside, with no e8uipment! Position yourself on all fours, with your knees bent below your hips. Working one side at a time, lift your bent leg out to the side (like a dog with a fire hydrant!) to tone your outer thighs and glutes.

9. Russian Twists

Russian twists are great for burning fat and creating toned abs. Sit with your knees bent and feet on the floor. Lean back until you feel your abs engage, then twist side to side, touching your hands to the ground with each twist. Keep this move slow and controlled!

10. Hip Bridges

This beach body move will lift your backside like none other and doesn’t require any equipment! Lie on your back with your knees bent. Press your weight into your heels as you raise your hips into the air. If you would like to make this move more challenging, you can also work one leg at a time.
