Good weather makes us happy and sunlight helps us feel motivated and energized during the day, but wintertime’s cold days are a drag! The minimal sunlight during the day can cause winter blues for so many people. Unless you tackle them head-on, the bad weather can quickly ruin your day and mood, week after week. We created the Beat the Winter Blues Morning Workout Challenge to start your day energized and carry that positive energy throughout the rest of the day and winter season.

Don’t let the blues get you down! Morning workouts are great for getting your blood flowing, boosting your metabolism, and making you feel genuinely more positive throughout the day. This workout is a full-body challenge that gets every muscle group working and pumped. Not only will you feel better, but you’ll be blasting fat and avoiding the extra 5 to 15 pounds most people put on during the holidays.

Beat the Winter Blues Morning Workout Challenge

Start your day energized!

Instructions

  • Perform this workout every morning, Monday through Friday. Each week, randomly change the order of the exercises to keep your body guessing. Also, be sure to increase the weight and fitness level as you get stronger.
  • Beginner Workout: Perform each exercise for 30 seconds with 15 seconds rest in between each exercise. Complete three rounds, resting for 45 seconds in between each round. For weighted exercises, use 10 to 15 pounds.
  • Intermediate Workout: Perform each exercise for 45 seconds with 10 seconds rest in between each exercise. Complete four rounds, resting for 30 seconds in between each round. For weighted exercises, use 15 to 20 pounds.
  • Advanced Workout: Perform each exercise for 45 seconds with no rest in between each exercise. Complete four rounds, resting for 30 seconds in between each round. For weighted exercises, use 20 to 25 pounds.
