Our Seared Tuna with Wasabi Cream Sauce is a Tasty, High-protein lunch or dinner.

All of the best restaurants have ahi tuna on the menu. You’ve probably never even considered trying to make it at home, but that’s about to change! Kick that intimidation to the curb and give our mouthwatering Seared Tuna with Wasabi Cream a try.

This fancy-looking dish is so simple to execute. The hearty, steak-like texture of the tuna has a moist and tender center, rivaling the best cuts of beef. Plus, the deliciously spicy zing of the wasabi cream elevates this dish to a whole new level!

Choosing the Right Tuna

Yellowfin tuna is an excellent option for this seared tuna recipe.

The quality of the fish that you choose is incredibly important for this recipe. We recommend using fresh yellowfin tuna steaks that are rated as sushi-grade. Yellowfin is leaner than bluefin tuna, and it has a lighter, less fishy taste. Compared to salmon, yellowfin has a lower fat content and a higher protein content. The nutrients in this fish also support low blood pressure and weight loss!

Super Easy Seared Tuna

If you need a quick and healthy meal, this tuna is the perfect option!

One of the things I adore most about yellowfin tuna is its simplicity. Unlike other proteins, sushi-grade yellowfin tuna is safe to eat even if it’s completely raw. That means you don’t have to worry about undercooking it. It turns out perfectly every time!

For this recipe, we start by marinating the steaks in ponzu, a Japanese citrus-based sauce that offers a sweet and salty flavor. Once the steaks have marinated for a few minutes, sear the tuna until it has a slight crust on the outside. The inside will still be pink and tender, just like a rare steak.

Dairy-Free Wasabi Cream with a Kick

Have you ever had wasabi cream? If not, think horseradish but spicier! Many wasabi cream recipes are made using sour cream, but we chose to use coconut cream instead to keep this recipe dairy-free. This ingredient helps level out the kick from the wasabi paste and zing of the ginger, leaving you with the perfect amount of heat.

So Many Reasons to Add this Dish to the Menu

This high-protein, low-carb recipe is incredibly easy to prepare.

You’d be hard-pressed to find a meal that is healthier than this one! Each serving of our seared tuna with wasabi cream is only 298 calories. There are 40 grams of protein and only 2 carbohydrates per steak. Along with being dairy-free, this recipe is also diabetic-friendly.

This recipe is healthy, absurdly easy to prepare, and full of magnificent flavors that you’ll want to enjoy over and over again. You can thank us later!
