The Best Charcuterie Board

This is The Best Sweet and Salty Charcuterie Board Made with Healthy Ingredients

Charcuterie boards are a trendy go-to for most occasions these days. Traditionally made with preserved meats and fresh cheeses, these boards make wonderful appetizers for any event. This sweet and salty charcuterie board is a twist from the classic, with some sweeter and saltier components. And thanks to the sweet ingredients, you can even serve this recipe as a dessert! The choice is yours!

The Sweet Ingredients

Charcuterie boards are just as much about texture combinations as they are flavor pairings.

Ingredients like juicy fruits, fresh brie, and homemade jam add sweet flavors to this board. Strawberries and grapes are not only very sweet, but they pair perfectly with things like nuts and cheese. They are also high in antioxidants, so you’ll be getting a little dose of healthy vitamins when eating off of this board! Feel free to add or swap in other fruits, such as apple, blueberries, or melon. Brie is a sweet, soft cheese that goes well with both fruit and salty crackers. Lastly, we’ve included our very own homemade chia seed jam recipe so you can top your salty ingredients with a dose of healthy chia sweetness.

The Salty Components

Delight your guests with the perfect combination of sweet and salty flavors.

We added salted popcorn, pretzels, and herb-roasted nuts to the board to balance out the sweetness of this board. Use our recipe for simple sea salt skillet popcorn to add even more savory flavors to the mix, or try one of these other options! You can also just go with the classic buttery or salted popcorn for an easier addition. Whole wheat pretzels and herb-roasted nuts are other filling additions that pair perfectly with sweet fruit and cheese. Of course, if you’re running short on time, you can always use your favorite store bought nut mix!

Have Fun Creating this Piece of Art

Charcuterie boards are all the rage and this one is a must-try!

Once you’ve got all of your ingredients prepped and together, you’re ready to create your beautiful board. Personally, I always start with the bigger items and then fill in with smaller ingredients. This ensures that there are no unsightly gaps on your board. The more colorful and abundant your ingredients are, the more professional your board will look! So, feel free to get creative and make this board as fun and colorful as you want! You can even garnish with different fruit, veggies, herbs, and dips, too.
