Strolling around the office break room can often feel a lot like dodging through a field of landmines. With donuts on every counter and your coworker’s homemade 7-layer dip on the table, it’s no surprise that America is in the middle of an obesity epidemic.
Fortunately, it’s possible to avoid becoming victim to an expanding waistline during working hours. Follow these tips to help you evade unwanted pounds and eat healthy while you’re at work.
Plan Ahead
Start your workweek off on the right foot by grocery shopping over the weekend so that you are well stocked for the week ahead. If you tend to run late in the morning, be sure to make your lunch the night before. Or, fix a little extra food at dinnertime, and enjoy a quick and healthy lunch the next day.
Put a New Twist on Turkey

A turkey sandwich is a great healthy lunch option, but the same old thing can get boring after a while. Try mixing up your usual sandwich by rolling its ingredients into a delicious wrap or using turkey to top a healthy garden salad.
Enjoy this Greek Turkey Wrap or our delicious Garden Salad with Lemon and Oil.
Get Creative with Your Menu
The key to passing up unhealthy options at the office is to be excited about the healthy options you’ve brought from home. Why not heat up a bowl of Hearty Vegetable and Black Bean Soup or some of this delicious Mediterranean Penne with Sun-Dried Tomatoes. Your lunch is sure to be the envy of your coworkers.
Prepare for a Sweet Tooth
No matter what we do, sometimes we can’t evade a sweet tooth. Avoid reaching into your colleague’s stash of chocolates by including a sweet, yet healthy, option in your lunch. Try a handful of fresh berries or a Dark Chocolate Nut Cluster. Make a batch on Sunday enjoy one each day of the week!
