Each of these positions is a beginner-level pose, so anyone and everyone can join in. For best results, focus on your breathing to clear your mind and relax.

What you need: A yoga mat or another soft surface to practice on, a bolster or a tightly-rolled blanket, and a timer (the timer on your phone will work just fine).

What to do: If you’re a beginner, start by holding each pose for 60 seconds. As you progress, hold each pose for up to five minutes. It’s extremely important to focus on your breathing to get the most out of the practice. Take nice deep breaths through your nose and exhale slowly through your mouth. This will allow you to deepen the stretch and, more importantly, help you to relax.

We’ve included instructional videos for each pose below to ensure that you’re using proper form.
