  1. I was wondering if there was anything else that you could add in place of the celery. I cannot have celery or green peppers, but would like to try this detox. Thank you for your time!

  2. How important is the apple? I have an allergy to apples and pears, what am I missing out on and what would be a good substitute?

    1. SO AWESOME to hear someone else say they are allergic to apples. Most people i know don't take me seriously, never mind that i have been hospitalized and suppose to have a bracelet, since it is so severe

  3. Is this a detox drink-can you have it in place of a meal and eat the others? how many calories are in it? I was thinking it was a very healthy "green" smoothie but now I"m thinking it is only for detox and not eating anything else?

    1. It doesn't need to be just for detox, though it has those properties. You can have it as you would a regular smoothie whenever you want to.

  4. Hello! I am new to working out and I am about to start a new abs workout and I want to do this detox along with the workout. This may be a "slow" question but like I said I am a beginner. Do I drink this before or after my daily workout??

    1. Brittany, Either is fine but I would probably drink before if you’re doing weight training. If you’re doing cardio, after is best.

  5. I have had this smoothie now two days in a row. Taste is less than appealing as well as the smell from the parsley but it is drinkable. Makes my stomach nauseous. I am curious how many days in a row or just whenever, how much ever one wants. Does anyone know?

    1. I drink it everyday! I love it and when I am out of town my body craves it. I guess it would be an individual thing though.

  6. I really like this smoothie but the recipe makes so much! Almost a full blender, for me. Is that right? If so, can I drink it throughout the day or is it best to finish it during breakfast time?

    1. Lauren, Yes, this smoothie comes out huge but is very low calorie for the amount. You can either save it for later in the fridge (only recommended for 12 hrs at the most) or freeze it for another day. One idea is to freeze it in ice cube trays, then put it in whatever bottle/glass you will drink it from. Shake or stir after an hour at room temperature and it should be thawed. You can also put the frozen smoothie cubes in the blender to puree it into a slushy-like consistency.

  7. It yielded like 5 cups in the blender is that one serving? or did I do something wrong…it wouldn't be the first time.

    1. I'm not sure. Just follow the directions and drink as much as you want and save the rest for later in the day.

  8. I just tried the smoothie. I thought it was going to taste bad. But it tastes pretty good.
I did not put the parsley in I was out of it.
But I did put everything else in it.

  9. Hello… I have tried the smoothie and it was not bad at all. I drink 2 times a day, 1st time early morning after a glass of water and the 2nd time early afternoon before lunch. Do you think it will help me loose weight while having light meals? Or do I have to follow the 3 or more days green juice detox diet? Thank you!

    1. Rana, I would recommend drinking the super detox green smoothie once a day in addition to your light meals. The 3 day cleanse & detox is a kick start to eating healthy, not a diet. 🙂

    1. If it's organic or has a thin skin such as the hothouse variety, then you needn't peel it. It also depends on the strength of your blender. A high powered blender can puree the skin, while many blenders cannot. There are many nutrients in the skin, but If it has a waxy skin, I would definitely peel it first.

  10. Ok so I posted a comment and it was deleted. Maybe because I used a brand name! Trying again. Starting the 3 day cleanse and detox tomorrow. I am using a high powered blender and I am wondering if I use the whole lemon. I saw the comment to remove the seeds but what about the peel? Of do I just use the pulp?

    1. If you have a high powered blender such as the Vitamix you should be able to blend the whole lemon including seeds. If the peel is waxy, you should remove it. If it is an organic lemon, you should definitely clean it and use the peel. Chop the lemon into chunks to make it easier to blend. There are a lot of phytonutrients in the peel, but a lot of nutritional value comes from the white pith under the peel, including a high amount of vitamin C.

  11. All of the ingredients are zero points. How do you get 4 pp??? The calculator doesn't have points for any of the ingredients.

      1. I use a lot of the recipes from here and the points are ALL wrong….all higher. I just double check the points myself bc the recipes are so good!

  12. wow tried this stuff now on 5th day lost 2kg already, going to it for one week twice a month. one personal change i use light almond milk/soya milk instead of water. still healthy and delicious!

  13. I am going to try the 3 day detox, but I just want to juice. It is ok to just drink the super detox in place of meals and the chamomile tea before bed?

  14. Hi am so elicited to try this .. What part of the day do you suggest I should have it? I do workouts too but after cardio I have protein powder .. Pls suggest

    1. Mary Young, It's good first thing in the morning, as a snack or after a workout. Also, it might give you energy in the afternoon- instead of reaching for caffeine- when many of us tend to have our 3:00 slump.

  15. I tried it today but somehow I forgot cucumber :/ but still tasted good. We don't have to strain it right? cause I dint .. Super Green !!! loved it

  16. I am wondering if you think this would freeze ok? I prep all my of my meals for the week on the weekends and would love to have these for my breakfasts but I have never tried to freeze a green smoothie. Any thoughts?

    1. Katie, Yes, this should freeze well. You can also freeze it in ice cube trays, then put it in whatever bottle/glass you will drink it from. Shake or stir after an hour at room temperature and it should be thawed. You can also put the frozen smoothie cubes in the blender to puree it into a slushy-like consistency.

    1. Terri, You can, however I would not recommend it. This detox drink tends to thicken up fairly quickly because of all
      the fibrous ingredients.

  17. The picture shows a lime (which is green!!) however the direction and all the comments say lemon??? Can a lime be used instead??

    1. Great question Kerry.

I would recommend making the juice fresh. When the juice sits it tends to separate and the greens tend to become bitter tasting if they set too long in the liquid. Hope this info helps!

  18. If I do the 3 day detox with this…what do I eat besides this drink? I want to do this right. If I just drink this that is fine too. I know how to eat light as well I believe.

    1. Christy, I can’t say for sure but this drink is very healthy and filled with superfood. Let us know if it helps. 🙂

    1. We don’t see any reason why you wouldn’t be able to enjoy this smoothie, but it is always a good idea to check with your doctor first when you have a medical condition.

  19. Good morning to you Skinny Ms can you add coconut unsweetened milk instead of water for this detox smoothie because I have a nutri ninja and want to make this smoothie but I this is a woman’s site but I liked the recipe thanks again, Enrique Diaz God Bless you

    1. Enrique, Sure, either coconut or almond milk are fine. Our site is for anyone who wants to follow a healthy lifestyle plan. 🙂
      Welcome!

  20. Great green juice recipe! I like the addition of chia seeds thrown in there. 🙂 It’s interesting, I had heard people talking about how green juice can be detoxifying, but what really opened my eyes up was when I started doing research into vegetables that had real, known detox properties and found that cruciferous vegetables (kale is one of these) have scientifically proven detox benefits. Parsley is good, too, and I just love drinking my green juices knowing that I am really doing something awesome for my body. I’m going to have to give your green drink, here, a try. Looks absolutely delicious and healthy!

  21. I have been drinking your green smoothie and love it. I love the recipe and have been drinking it almost daily for more than a week. I eat luncg and dinner. Is there a potential problem with drinking it for an extended period of time?

    1. Kay, Just make sure you eat a balanced diet throughout the day. The ingredients in this recipe are all healthy and can be consumed daily. However,
it’s a better idea to switch foods up, just as with exercise. Variety is the spice of life…as they say! 🙂

    1. Hi Kristen, you can leave out the chia seeds, just keep in mind that that would change the calorie/protein/fat/carb count. If you can find chia seeds, though, we recommend using them, since they have antioxidants.

  22. Hi as one commented, I also find it difficult to find kale so I’m trying heart of a romaine lettuce instead. Also as for the fresh spinach, I buy frozen spinach cubes… can I use a cube instead? Thanks

  23. Hey I am a lupus nephrities patient. Under medication si ce 2008 . Now I am at the age of 40 and experiencing lots of side effect of steroids . Want to know can I also detox the same . M restricted to low protien diet. M not allergic to any veggies or fruits .thanks and regards AnujaM

    1. Anuja, Hmmmm….please check with your doctor regarding whether this, or any other, detox is right for you. 🙂

    1. Bree, Either will work. If you prefer a juice then go for it. I usually prefer a blender because I don’t want to leave any nutrients behind. 🙂

  24. Wasn’t there another smoothie we have to had all the juicer contents to the blender for the remaining ingriedient;
    Another detox smoothie had to be made in blender but didn’t state strain through a mesh to get rid of the pulp;
Only says apple can we use any kind of apple?

    1. Alyse, Yes you can have your morning coffee. This ingredients in the drink are all perfectly healthy and can be consumed daily.

  25. How much of this do I need to drink? 8oz. 16oz? Do I need to drink it everyday or just 3 days to cleanse me? I will be juicing it too.

    1. Salvador, This recipe falls under our diabetic-friendly recipes. The ingredients are Whole Foods and super healthy.

  26. Hello! I’m starting to workout again and looking to do a 2-5 day detox weight loss thing as well. Does anyone have good results of losing weight with this drink? I always fluctuate 3-10 pounds. But I’m at my highest I’ve ever been and want to get down a little bit lol
