Hey friends! It’s Nichole here. Let’s be real—there are times when life just completely derails. Maybe it’s three days of takeout, zero veggies, or that hazy moment when you’re not sure if you dreamt texting your ex or actually did it (ouch… turns out, you did). We’ve all been there. And while I can’t help with the texts, I can share my favorite little reset: this Apple Cider Vinegar and Cranberry Detox Drink.

This tart, punchy drink is my morning go-to when I need a refresh. Whether it’s after a salty-food binge, a vacation full of indulgent meals, or just a day when I want to feel more energized and less… puffy, this detox drink with cranberry juice hits the spot.

No gimmicks here—just clean ingredients, no added sugar, and nothing you can’t pronounce. It supports digestion, hydration, and gives my metabolism a gentle kickstart. And yes, it tastes like it means business, but in the best way. Let’s make it!

Why This Detox Drink Works

Look, I’m not about to preach some wild juice cleanse or claim that one drink will change your life. But I will tell you that this combo of ingredients can help your body do what it’s naturally built to do—flush, refresh, and reset.

Here’s why I love it:

  • Apple cider vinegar helps support digestion, may balance blood sugar, and gives this detox drink a metabolism-boosting edge.
  • Cranberry juice (real, unsweetened cranberry juice!) is full of antioxidants and supports urinary and immune health.
  • Lemon juice adds vitamin C and bright flavor—it makes the whole thing feel like a spa moment in a glass.
  • Water, of course, is essential for hydration and flushing out all the not-so-great stuff.

This natural detox drink recipe is simple, light, and gives me that “okay, let’s get back on track” feeling—without any extremes.

Reader Q&A: Detox Drink Edition

Apple cider vinegar and cranberry detox drink in a glass with lemon slice and ice

Can I drink this every day?

Totally! I usually have a glass in the morning before breakfast. That said, if you’re sensitive to acidity, check in with your doctor just to be safe.

Cold or warm?

Cold all the way. The chill balances the tart flavors and gives it that refreshing, wake-you-up vibe.

Can I use cranberry juice cocktail?

Nope. For a real cranberry juice cleanse, you want 100% pure cranberry juice. No added sugar, no fluff.

Can I batch it ahead?

Absolutely! I make a big batch and keep it in a mason jar in the fridge for up to two days. Shake before sipping.

Will it help with bloating?

In my experience—yes. This cranberry and apple cider vinegar drink for bloating has saved me after pizza nights more times than I can count. It’s hydrating and gentle on your gut.

Best time to drink it?

Mornings are ideal, especially on an empty-ish stomach. But honestly, anytime you need a quick reset works too.

          1. Maree, It’s up to the individual. I would not drink it everyday forever. Detoxes are typically intended for short durations, a few days, a week…

          2. Hi Johanne! Yes, you can use coconut water in place of plain water if you wish! If you try it, be sure to let us know what you thought!

  1. Is this good weight loss program ? Or should you just use it to rid yourself of toxins? An is it not for every day use ?

    1. Linda, This drink is not a weight loss program but one you can enjoy a few times weekly. It’s designed as a detox drink.

        1. Voula, The unsweetened cranberry juice is usually with the organic juices. This is the brand we use, Ocean Spray® Pure Unsweetened Cranberry Juice, 100%, 32 Fl Oz Bottle. Lakewood brand is also good.

    1. Hi Jane,

While we recommend drinking this in the morning before breakfast, it is not mandatory to do so. You can drink it whenever, even after you’ve eaten. 🙂

    1. Hi Brett,

There are 16 (8 oz.) glasses in a gallon, so you would need to multiply the current recipe by 16. Assuming my math is correct, the ingredients would be: 4 cups of no sugar added cranberry juice; 8 cups of cold water; 32 TBSPs (which is 2 cups) of Apple Cider Vinegar; and 16 TSPs (which is 1/3 cup) of Lemon or Lime Juice.

      1. Apple cider vinegar has more nutritional value and probiotics. It’s a much better choice than “regular” vinegar.

    1. Hi Ally,

Yes, you should eat plenty of nutritious foods along with this detox drink. This beverage is just meant to enhance the work that your kidneys and liver are already doing. While it is not necessary to drink more than once or twice per week, you may drink it more than that if you’d like. We do not recommend drinking this more than once per day. Be sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day, as well. Of course if you have any concerns, you should definitely speak to your doctor. Hope that helps 🙂

      1. Mary, For 1/4 cup we used 2 tablespoons ACV. Based on this calculation, for 8 ounces cranberry juice, use up to 1/2 cup ACV.

  2. Is this ok to use if you are intermittent fasting? I am on a 16:8 fasting protocol and this sounds like something that I would like to incorporate. Even though it would technically break my fast, I think I would drink this first thing in the morning, then get on with my normal routine.

    1. Hi Leanne,

That should be fine. Intermittent fasting is just another way to regulate caloric intake, so as long as you make it fit into your calories needed for the day, it shouldn’t be an issue 🙂

    1. Hi Debbie, unfortunately no, regular vinegar will not work. The apple cider vinegar contains nutrition other vinegar do not have.

  3. I bought Trader Joe’s unsweetened cranberry juice…man was it tart! I can typically handle a shot ACV, but mixed with the cranberry juice….I am struggling to keep it down!! I think I’ll water it down more next time😖

    1. Hi Lynn,

It’s up to you! You can drink it once a month, twice a month, or even once or twice per week.

  4. Does this help at all with constipation? Any suggestions ?? I’m a healthy eater, lots of. Veggies, fiber, water. Hmmmm🤔
    Shelly

    1. Shelly, You might want to check with your doctor regarding constipation. Be sure to continue with a healthy diet.

  5. If I were to use a sugary crane berry juice, will it still work?
    Or would it be pointless?

  6. Hi, I do this every morning after I do my morning walk. I think it is very refreshing and it does boost my energy as well. I use Bragg’s ACV(a teaspoon), unsweetened cranberry juice, and honey (teaspoon) and to me, it is very good. Not bitter. I havn’t tried it with lemon yet, but of course, lemon is a good detox for the kidney as well. I have also notice my stomach fat shrinking. I am not 100% sure if it from this concoction or not, but I have noticed a slight difference.

    1. Keep in mind, toxins also leave the body though pores (perspiring) and/or going to the bathroom. I prefer to start a detox on Mondays, but that’s just me. It’s a personal choice.

    1. Gena, Every person is different. So, it’s really impossible to say. Please send an update if you try the drink.

  7. After mixing could you drink half the glass in the morning before breakfast and the other half at night before bed? Or do you need to drink it all in the morning?

    1. Hi Debra,

If you scroll down, you’ll find the recipe card beneath the intro.

The recipe for this one is pretty simple though. It calls for:

1/4 cup cranberry juice (no sugar added)
      1/2 cup cold water
      2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1 teaspoon lemon juice or lime juice

Then, all you need to do is mix well and serve cold!

      Hope that helps! 🙂

  8. I want the cranberry and apple cider vinegar recipe please I don’t have time to listen to 45 minute video

  9. WOW! It was a little rough with the first few sips, but I immediately felt the rush. Thank you for this great drink and I will definitely add this to my routine every Monday morning.5 stars

  10. Did you ever find the recipe for the drink ! I don’t have the time for video like you posted here and facebook

  11. Really hope this works…I’ve looked for a simple lift to my metabolism without buying expensive pills or questionable ingredients that I would not follow through with. I made it without this recipe the first time…no water. OK…I think I can do this now! A bit more morning friendly?!5 stars

    1. Judy, Hmmmm…I’m not sure the purpose of the baking soda. I can’t vouch for the baking soda since it changes the recipe and we haven’t tried it.

  12. I just got to try cranberry juice and Apple cider vinegar Detox to flatten the stomach .So much more this drink can do for the body .

    1. Hi Michael, it’s really up to you! You can drink it once a month, once a week, or even once a day if you like.

  13. Debbie, I’m not sure what you are referring to, “get the details”. This is not intended to be a diet. This recipe should be consumed as part of a healthy eat plan that includes, protein, whole grains, vegetables, fruits, nuts and seeds. I hope this helps.

    1. Kira, You can but I don’t recommend using diet drinks of any kind. They aren’t very healthy. 🙁

  14. Can I lose weight drinking this I already doing the shots and howmuch do I put in the apple cider vinegar and how much cranberry drink
