Taco Bell Copycat

Skip the fast food restaurant and make your own food at home, instead!

Taco Bell was one of my favorite fast food stops growing up, and to this day I might stop by for a quick taco every now and then. However, sometimes I want to go for something with the same great flavor but a little lighter. And with that came the inspiration for this copycat crunchwrap supreme recipe!

Healthy Swaps

Making your own crunchwrap at home is a great way to save money and eat healthy!

We’ve made this recipe a bit lighter than the original by using ground turkey instead of ground beef, as well as fresh veggies and salsa. We’ve also used whole wheat tortillas and tortilla chips to increase the fiber, which is important for heart and digestive health. Altogeher, this wraps up to be quite a healthy meal!

Folding 101

Craving Mexican food? You need to try this yummy recipe!

One of the defining features of a crunchwrap is it’s shape. It can be a little intimidating to try at first, however once you get the hang of the folding, you’ll become a pro in no time. Get all of your ingredients ready and stacked in the middle (see more instructions below), before you start wrapping. Take one side of the wrap and fold it over the middle, which will create a shallow semi-circle fold. Take one side of the semi-circle and fold it on top of the original fold. From there, continue the same process until the whole wrap is folded! Make sure to hold down the middle until it is on the pan so that it doesn’t fall apart.

Serve This Supreme Wrap

This is an easy and affordable Mexican dinner to make at home with the family.

To make this copycat crunchwrap supreme, start by cooking the turkey in a medium pan over medium-high heat. Add in all of the spices while cooking and mix them in while breaking up the turkey into crumbs. Once the meat is fully cooked (make sure no pink is left), remove it from the heat and drain the fat. Then, start to layer the ingredients in the cener of your whole wheat tortilla. Lay down the cooked turkey first and drizzle it with sour cream. Place the tortilla chips overtop. Next, add the shredded Mexican cheese, lettuce, and salsa. Wrap the tortilla according to the directions above. Add one teaspoon of olive oil to a medium skillet and cook the wrap for about two minutes on both sides (starting with the wrapped side down first) or until golden and firm!
