Turkey Taco Lettuce Wraps
Ingredients
- 1 pound lean ground turkey
- 3 tablespoons taco seasoning homemade or store-bought
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher or sea salt only if not already in the taco seasoning, like in the homemade version above
- 12 whole romaine heart lettuce leaves
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes halved (half-pint)
- 1 avocado pitted, peeled and diced
- 1 cup salsa no sugar added
Instructions
- Add ground turkey to a skillet. Cook over medium heat for 8 minutes until browned. Add 1/3 cup water, taco seasoning, and salt (if not already an ingredient in the seasoning). Allow to cook for 3 minutes more. Remove from heat.
- Double each lettuce leaf so the top fits into the second and you have 6 doubled leaves altogether. Spoon in the meat mixture. Add cherry tomatoes and avocado pieces. Top each with salsa.
- Serve and enjoy!

At first it looked like the taco mixture was in bell pepper halves and then I saw it was lettuce…ok….but why not bell peppers. I’m going to try it because I have one, with the chopped up pork I have. I’ll add lettuce to it. Thanks for the idea.
Mary Ann, Sure bell peppers would work too. 🙂
How much of the turkey mix do you put in each lettuce wrap for 6 points?
The recipe will use about 2 1/2 ounces of turkey in each lettuce cup.
It was delicious but for tender taste buds I would only put 1/4 chili powder….it was SPICY….
So my question is if you leave out the salsa, would this be zero points?
No, the salsa is not causing the points. Avocado is not a zero point food and only ground turkey breast is zero points.
I have been on a Weight Watchers diet for two weeks and I have totally enjoyed every meal.
What exactly is 215kcal in calories. I’m not at all familiar with this rule of calorie count. I want to know how many calories are in one wrap. Thank you
Laura, It is 215 calories.
