This watermelon spritzer is ridiculously simple to make, and it’s a much healthier option than regular or diet soda. It’s no secret that soda is an unhealthy option. Regular soda offers no nutrients whatsoever, and it is loaded with sugar and calories. Even diet soda is chock-full of artificial sweeteners that can increase cravings for sugary foods. It’s best just to say no to all of it. Finding a replacement for when you don’t just want plain water can help you maintain or even lose weight.

This watermelon spritzer only contains 52 calories per serving and just 11 grams of natural sugars. While all types of sugar are carbohydrates, natural sugars that occur in foods like fruit and honey also contain vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and more. This differs from refined and added sugars, which usually offer little to no nutrients.

This yummy recipe only requires six basic ingredients that most people already have on hand. Grab your blender and add the watermelon, ice, lime juice, and honey. Blend this mixture until it’s nice and smooth. Then, slowly add the club soda while the blender is on low. That’s it!

If you want the drink to be a bit slushier, you can feel free to add more ice. Pour this watermelon spritzer into your favorite outdoor glasses, garnish with lime, and get out there to enjoy the sunshine!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups seedless watermelon cubed
  • 1/2 cup ice
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 2 cups club soda
  • 1 lime cut into wedges

Instructions

  • In a blender, combine all ingredients except club soda and the lime wedges. Blend until well combined.
  • Gradually add the club soda on low speed until smooth. Add more ice if a slushier spritzer is desired.
  • Pour into serving glasses and garnish with lime.
