An Apple a Day…

This delicious and healthy granola is an excellent breakfast or snack to eat on-the-go!

Your mother wasn’t wrong when you always heard her say, “An apple a day keeps the doctor away!” Apples are a powerhouse food that contain beneficial nutrients like fiber and vitamin C. They help with good digestion, heart health, and immune function (which keeps you from getting sick!). It’s even said that apples can give you as much energy as a cup of coffee.

In this recipe, we use apple chips that have been baked to crispy perfection to add an amazing texture and flavor. Just got your apples straight from the orchard? Try Skinny Ms.’s Baked Apple Chip recipe to make your own crunchy additions to your granola!

Tempted to try this apple cinnamon granola recipe yet? It’s very easy to make!

Start by preheating your oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Then, combine the oats, cinnamon, pecans, pumpkin seeds, and maple syrup. You’ll then spread them out over the lined baking sheet evenly.

Use the coconut oil spray to give the mixture a quick cover of oil and pop the tray in the oven for 20 minutes. Make sure you stir it halfway through. When there are five minutes left, sprinkle the apple chips over the tray to let the flavors meld.

Once finished, remove the granola from the oven and let it cool. Or, serve it warm for a cozy treat!
