With only 4 ingredients, you can quickly put this dessert together when you realize it’s time to use your ready-to-eat fruit. Pro tip: if you already have bananas in the freezer, you can pull those out and use them! Just make sure to prep while they are still frozen.

The bananas in this recipe offer tons of great nutrients including fiber, potassium, and vitamins C and B6. Another awesome ingredient in this recipe is nut butter, which has tons of healthy fats and can be interchanged for many different diets. Allergic to nuts? Try some sunflower seed butter!

Coconut oil is used in this recipe to make sure the chocolate chips get a creamy texture in the microwave, but it also has lots of great benefits because it contains healthy fatty acids. Between each of these ingredients and of course the yummy chocolate, our frozen banana snacks have the perfect mix of flavor and nutrition! 

How to Make Chocolate Covered Banana Bites

The whole family will enjoy these tasty chocolate and nut butter bites!

With a recipe this easy, anyone can make these delicious little delights. First, cut the bananas into 1 centimeter thick disks. Next, spread nut butter on half of the disks, and then place another on top, making a banana and nut butter sandwich. Then, take a small microwave-safe bowl and heat chocolate chips and coconut oil on high for 15 seconds at a time, stirring in between, until the chocolate has completely melted. Afterward, dip half of the banana sandwiches into the melted chocolate and place on a lined tray. 

All that is left to do is place them in the freezer and let them chill for at least 1 hour. Once set, enjoy these chocolatey banana treats frozen! Keep in mind to store the bites in a closed container in the freezer.

These frozen dessert bites are an awesome healthy treat loved by all!

Ingredients

  • 3 bananas large, sliced
  • 1/2 cup creamy nut butter any nut butter of your choosing
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips can use vegan option
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil

Instructions

  • Spread nut butter on one side of a banana slice and top with another to create a sandwich. Do this until you have made even stacks with all of the banana slices
  • Take a small microwave-safe bowl and heat chocolate chips and coconut oil on high for 15 seconds at a time, stirring in between, until the chocolate has completely melted
  • Dip half of the banana sandwiches into the melted chocolate and place on a tray
  • Place in the freezer to chill for at least on hour
