Tiny Change #1: Switch To Smaller Plates

According to research, plate size matters.

Several scientific studies have revealed that we consume fewer calories when we serve food on salad-sized plates, which tend to run about seven inches in diameter or less. In fact, one study found that halving the area “reduces consumption by 30%.”

Obviously there are going to be times when bigger plates are needed, like for dinner parties. Save  your big plates for such occasions and use the smaller size for everyday eating.

The first time I read about eating meals on small plates was in the book, French Women Don’t Get Fat. Guess what? It worked! This one of three tiny changes for weight loss made all the difference in my journey towards a healthier self.

Is it easy?

Yes! You’d be surprised at how little you think about your plate size when you only have one option available. I don’t give it a second thought. I grab my salad plate and enjoy the food without going overboard with serving sizes.

This one tiny change worked and continues to every single day. I’m never hungry, but I am satisfied.
