Can I do this without the tofu?
LeeAnn, Sure. I would recommend substituting with another protein, maybe avocado?
What about Whey protein powder as a substitute?
If you use almond milk, doesn't that have protein? I, too, am not a fan of tofu…
Almond milk generally has about 1 g protein per cup, whereas cow’s milk has about 8 g. You can sub an avocado for the tofu or Greek yogurt. Almond milk is fine but will not provide a great deal of protein.
It does have protein, but not a lot. An 8 oz. glass of almond milk has 1 gram of protein.
Yes, it does.
what about whey protein powder can that be a substitute?
Gina, Yes.
I use Almond milk, not soy…Also the whey protein(vanilla).. Add greek yogurt in place of of the tofu..
