The Paleo diet is all about eating what our ancestors ate. If you’re trying to eat clean, it’s a great guideline. You have to pay attention to what you eat, but not to how much you eat–no counting calories! The Paleo diet restricts processed foods, grains, dairy, legumes, and refined sugars. You eat meat, fish, eggs, vegetables, fruit, nuts, seeds, and natural sweeteners, such as honey. It’s not as difficult or as restrictive as it sounds–there are tons of delicious foods you can enjoy. We’ve put together this list to show you some of them–The Ultimate Paleo Grocery List. It doesn’t include ALL the foods you can eat, but it does include the ones that are especially useful to keep at home. Plus, we’ve included recipes, all of which are Paleo friendly!
Bananas are packed with fiber and potassium. For a healthy snack, try a banana with Clean Eating Almond Butter.
All kinds of berries are Paleo approved–blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, and raspberries. Whip up a batch of our Blueberry Breakfast Cookies for a healthy, sweet breakfast.
Apples are a great source of fiber, and they’re tasty, too! Our Instant Pot Applesauce is a tasty fruity treat.
4. Leafy greens
Everyone should eat more leafy greens. Kale, spinach, Swiss chard, lettuce, and collard greens are among the healthiest foods in the world. They’re loaded with fiber, iron, calcium, vitamin K, and B vitamins. Flush the Fat Away Detox Salad is made with a superfood base of kale and spinach.
Broccoli is a fantastic source of fiber, and it has serious anti-inflammatory properties. Try our Foil Baked Chicken and Broccoli for a quick and easy dinner.
