6 Moves to Boost Your Metabolism

It’s time to rev up your metabolism!  This workout will help increase both your metabolic rate during the workout, as well as your basal metabolic rate if done consistently. Your basal metabolic rate is how many calories your body burns at rest. By increasing that number through working out consistently, you will be able to burn more fat and calories even when you’re just sitting on your couch or sleeping. Anaerobic exercise is the most efficient way to boost metabolism. These include activities like jump roping, sprinting, HIIT and weight training. Metabolism is best boosted when these are combined together.  So get ready to pick up the pace, and to pick up your metabolic rate with this fast paced exercise routine!

Equipment Needed: set of dumbbells of medium weight(8-12 lbs), jump rope, interval timer

What to Do: Perform each exercise for 45 seconds, then rest for 15 seconds before moving on to the next exercise. Perform 3 circuits, resting 1 minute in between, to make this a 20-minute workout. For optimal results perform 3-4 times weekly on non-consecutive days.
