Celebrate the fall season (even if the weather is still warm!)

This sweet potato pie smoothie is full of fall flavors!

Fall is here! Time for pumpkins, Halloween, and sweet potato pie. But we all know that while the seasons always change, sometimes the weather does not. So, we’ve come up with a solution to get your fall food fill while staying cool in warmer weather! This sweet potato pie smoothie is the perfect healthy treat to get into the autumn mood!

Splendid Sweet Potatoes

You can enjoy this smoothie for breakfast, lunch, as a dessert, or even as a snack!

Sweet potatoes are a nutritious tuber that are packed with essential nutrients like fiber and vitamin A. Fiber supports healthy blood sugar control, digestion, and even a reduction in LDL cholesterol. Meanwhile, vitamin A benefits your eye health and can be found in many orange vegetables like carrots and pumpkin.

Do I Need Protein Powder

This healthy recipe is packed with nutrients.

Adding protein powder to your smoothie can boost your intake of the muscle building macronutrient by a ton. Protein isn’t just for bulding muscle, though. It’s also good for satiety and cell function. We recommend using vanilla protein powder for this smoothie because it adds to the flavor, but you can swap it for an unflavored one or pass on it all together, as well. If you choose unflavored, you may want to add 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract for some of the same flavor. Unsure which protein powder to go for? Serve This Sweet Potato Smoothie

The whole family will adore this scrumptious smoothie recipe!

Start by prepping the sweet potato. To do this, heat two inches of water in a saucepan over medium heat until gently simmering. Insert a steamer basket and add the sweet potato. Cover and steam it until soft, flipping it after five minutes (you will steam it for about ten minutes total). Drain the water and place the potato in the refrigerator to cool. Once cooled, combine the sweet potato with the rest of the ingredients in a blender. Add more ice or water to reach the desired consistency. Blend all of the ingredients together, pour your smoothie in a glass, and enjoy!
