The Secret’s in the Sauce (or Mayo)

Traditional BLT recipes use a little bit of mayonnaise, although most options are loaded with unhealthy fats and additives. We like using clean mayonnaise because not only is it better for your body, but it tastes better, too! Of course, we wanted to kick things up a notch, which is why we decided to include a few more ingredients. Combining your clean mayo with a little bit of lemon juice, lemon zest, and dried dill, and a pinch of red pepper flakes gives this “sauce” its incredible, stand-out flavor!

Simple Sandwich, Healthy Lunch!

This recipe makes two sandwiches, so you can share one with a friend or save the other one for lunch tomorrow. While we’re usually all about sharing, this recipe is so yummy that you may want to keep both sandwiches all for yourself this time around! If you’re packing lunch for more than just yourself, feel free to double or triple the ingredients to make additional sandwiches.

Preparing this sandwich is as easy as cooking up the bacon and slicing the tomatoes into nice, thick slices! Spread some of the dill mayo onto each slice of bread. Then, layer your halved turkey bacon, lettuce, and tomato onto one side and top it off with the other slice!

Put Your Own Spin On It

You may want to try toasting your bread first for a sandwich that will warm your belly. I love toasted BLTs! This low-calorie recipe is also a great source of protein and healthy fats, and it’s quite low in carbohydrates. That said, you can increase protein by adding a few slices of turkey or chicken. We usually recommend Boar’s Head.

Whether you eat this skinny BLT with dill mayo as is, or put your own unique spin on it, we feel confident that you’ll love it!
