This light, sweet, and tangy dish is perfect any time of day!

This fruit salad is super tasty and incredibly good for you! It's a great way to stay hydrated!

Fruit is one of our favorite foods! Not only is it loaded with nutrients that nourish the body, but it’s also sweet, delicious, and perfect as it is. So, it’s really no surprise that combining different fruits makes them even tastier! Our fresh lime and basil fruit salad joins highly-complementary ingredients in a process that is so easy to make.

It Doesn’t Get Much Easier Than This

Enjoy this lime and basil fruit salad as a side dish at breakfast, or a wuick and healthy afternoon snack.

10 minutes. Seriously: That’s all you need to create this refreshing fruit salad. It doesn’t require a lot of prep work, either. You’ll just chop the melon, rinse the berries, and add them to a bowl with fresh basil and lime juice. After that, simply let the mixture chill for about an hour. The chilling process will ensure the fruit salad is cold and refreshing, and it will also provide peak flavor!

Summer’s Natural Flavors

This sweet, low-calorie fruit salad is great for satisfying cravings in a healthy way!

Recipes that only use all-natural ingredients taste better, and the textures are unbeatable. Fresh fruit is super juicy and creates a beautifully vibrant salad, too. And while this simple recipe is inexpensive to make and only requires five basic ingredients, it tastes super extravagant!

The bulk of this yummy fresh lime and basil fruit salad is made from honeydew melon. This melon is different from cantaloupe as it’s less sweet. It offers a light, subtle flavor that makes it perfect for pairing with tangy ingredients! Plus, it’s an excellent source of vitamin C and potassium. These nutrients are crucial for a healthy immune system and a body that functions optimally!

Blackberries and raspberries contribute a juicy and plump texture to this fruit salad. The sweet, slight tartness of these berries kicks the flavors up a notch too! Blackberries and raspberries are both fantastic sources of vitamin C and fiber. In fact, raspberries are one of the most filling fruits due to their high-fiber content.

Basil, mint’s closest cousin, is an aromatic herb that offers a strong and pronounced peppery flavor at first. This bitterness is quickly followed by a light, pleasant sweetness. It’s the perfect companion for the tangy lime juice in this recipe. Basil is also rich in calcium and vitamin A. These nutrients are important for strong bones, healthy organs, a high-functioning immune system, and more!

Finally, lime juice finishes off the fruit salad with a mouthwatering, tangy flavor. One of the great things about lime juice is that it adds a lot to any dish without tacking on a ton of calories! And, like the melon and berries, lime juice is another excellent source of vitamin C.

Ways to Serve this Refreshing Fruit Salad

This yummy fresh lime and basil fruit salad is so easy to prepare!

This fresh lime and basil fruit salad recipe can be devoured at any time of the day. Serve it with breakfast or brunch (it makes a fantastic side for pancakes or quiche). Enjoy it as a snack on its own, or with a side of Greek yogurt or cottage cheese. It even goes well as a side to any sandwich or wrap at lunchtime! And, while it may not be the right choice for dinner, it does make a super yummy and low-calorie dessert afterward!
