Enjoy perfectly fresh produce by growing your own veggies and herbs!
6. Jalapeños
You can easily grow sweet and hot peppers in pots, but jalapeños tend to ripen fastest. Add them to just about any dish to add some spice. Add some tang to traditional dishes by trying or Slow Cooker Jalapeño Cornbread and our Clean Eating Jalapeño Popper Mac and Cheese.
7. Tomatoes
There is nothing like a home-grown tomato, and these plants can thrive in the ground or in a container. There are tons of great varieties to choose from, but cherry and grape tomatoes are the easiest to grow. Enjoy your tomatoes plain, in a salad, on a sandwich, or try our Egg and Turkey Bacon Stuffed Tomatoes or our Deep Dish Tomato Pie.
8. String beans
Green beans like full sun, and once they have it, they grow like a charm. There are tons of varieties of delicious beans and tons of ways to cook them. We recommend a Classic Green Bean Casserole or Roasted Green Beans with Lemon & Garlic.
9. Radishes
Radishes are another veggie that can grow all season long. They also grow super fast, so you’ll be able to enjoy tons of fresh radishes in salads and in your favorite dip. Try Roasted Spiced Radishes for something a little different.
10. Carrots
The best place to grow carrots is in deep, rock-free soil. They’ll still grow in rocky soil, but they’ll be smaller. Change up your carrots and hummus routine and use your garden carrots to make Carrot and Honey Muffins or One-Pot Carrot and Broccoli Couscous.
