7 Make Ahead Smoothies for Weight Loss

Slurp up to slim down!

Confession: I put flaxseeds in almost everything.

The tiny seeds have incredibly huge health benefits. Here are just a few:

  • Omega-3’s
  • Fiber
  • Protein
  • Promote healthy skin and hair
  • Promote weight loss
  • Lower cholesterol

This sweet and savory smoothie not only calls for flaxseeds, but it tastes amazing too. Blueberries lend mouthwatering sweetness to this decadent meal, while giving it that gorgeous purple shade. Meanwhile, mint adds a refreshing kick, while flax packs in a satisfying dose of fiber and protein in this simple, 5-ingredient smoothie!

What you need:
Flaxseed
Almond milk
Blueberries
Honey
Mint leaves

5. Chocolate Meal Replacement Shake

On a time crunch? Forget store-bought meal replacement shakes and bars, and treat your body to something it truly deserves! This drool-worthy shake packs in a whopping 20 grams of protein, 7 grams of fiber, and a crave-worthy chocolate punch, of course.

I’ve actually been making it for my brother whenever I’m home. It replaces his nightly chocolate milkshake. He’ll thank me in the future when his body is stronger and his mind is happier. He thanks me now because it tastes absolutely amazing and makes him feel great too–not like those chocolate milkshakes that kill his stomach.

Drink up!

What you need:
Almond Milk
Banana
Clean Chocolate Protein Powder
Flaxseed

6. Superfoods Smoothie

Unique ingredients like frozen berries and pomegranate juice pair beautifully with fresh ginger root, spinach, and Greek yogurt in this low-calorie, metabolism-boosting morning meal.

You can taste all of the delicious, flavorful fruits in this one–making it great for all lovers of sweets!

What you need:
Spinach
Banana
Berries
Ginger Root
Kefir
Green Tea
Pomegranate Juice

7. Kale and Orange Smoothie

Loaded with vitamins and minerals, this tasty blend of lush fruits, succulent veggies, and a drizzle of honey is everything your body needs to start the day off right. Weighing in at just 131 calories a serving, this nourishing smoothie’s thick, creamy texture and subtle sweetness make it simply irresistible.

Some mornings, if I have the time, I make a couple of servings so I can have one as breakfast, and a second as a snack throughout the day. They’re so light, yet filling and tasty! My absolute favorite ingredient in it, though, is the one that provides the least amount of flavor: almond milk. Why? Because it’s so much better for you than any of the alternatives.

Almond milk is:

  • Low in fat
  • Energy boosting
  • High in fiber
  • High in protein
  • A great source of calcium (a better source than dairy milk)
  • Vitamin-rich
  • Mineral-rich

What you need:
Banana
Kale
Orange
Honey
Almond Milk

  1. What can you put in smoothies in place of bananas and strawberries, I’m allergic to both and almost every smoothie recipe has bananas

    1. Lisa, That’s true, most do. I love frozen red grapes, blueberries, and frozen coconut water ice cubes. Really the sky is the limit of what berries and fruits can be added. I also like honeydew melon in smoothies. YUM!
