Caprese salad is a very simple Italian summer salad comprised of mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil. Season it with extra virgin olive oil and salt to bring out the tangy flavors of the tomatoes and the earthy taste of the basil and mozzarella. Your grab-and-go jar will display the colors of the Italian flag: red, green and white.

Caprese Salad in a Jar

Save time and energy with this on-the-go salad that's both nutritious and appetizing.

Ingredients

  • 5 cups cherry tomatoes
  • 5 cups pearl mozzarella or 4 (9 ounce) mozzarella balls
  • 20 basil leaves fresh
  • 1/8 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt

Instructions

  • In four individual jars, distribute the tomatoes, mozzarella and basil. Sprinkle with the salt and drizzle with the extra virgin olive oil.
  • Seal the jars and refrigerate. You can prepare them the night before. Take out from the refrigerator when ready to go.
