Some foods may be the enemy, but these foods are the heros!

22. Coconut Oil
Coconut oil is known to be the most weight loss friendly fat in the world! That is, of course, a great reason to use coconut oil when preparing meals. One scrumptious meal that calls for coconut oil is our Chocolate Chip Banana Pancakes. When you’re in a rush, though, simply swapping out buttered toast for toast with coconut oil on top is a great way to eat the world’s friendliest fat.
23. Beets
As fat fighters and fiber providers, beets are a great weight loss food! Enjoy our Roasted Beet Salad with Goat Cheese as a way to get those beets in your diet.
24. Bananas

This fruit can help you to lose weight quickly by using them as replacers for other on-the-go snacks that are higher in calories and lower in nutrients. Bananas are high in fiber which, by now, we know promotes weight loss. They’re also a good source of vitamin C, which increases your body’s ability to burn fat. Try these recipes to enjoy the deliciousness and the weight loss benefits of bananas:
- Banana Bread Pancakes
- Bruleed Banana and Peanut Butter Bagel
- Morning Banana Split
- Banana Smash Oatmeal
25. Chickpeas
Chickpeas, also known as garbanzo beans, are very low in fat and help to prevent those pesky carb cravings that often overwhelm us and cause us to eat unhealthy foods. For a meal that uses chickpeas, you should definitely try our Peanut Chickpea Buddha Bowl recipe. For a yummy, weight loss snack, you should give our Honey Roasted Chickpeas a go. Both recipes are too tasty for words!
26. Eggplant
What makes eggplant a great weight loss food? Let me break it down for you:
- It’s low in calories
- It’s low in carbohydrates
- It’s high in nutrients
- It’s a low glycemic food (and lower glycemic foods are better for weight loss)
Here’s a great eggplant recipe for you to try: Slow Cooker Eggplant Lasagna. It won’t disappoint!
27. Brussels Sprouts
This green vegetable surprisingly has a decent amount of protein in it: 6 grams per serving. On top of that, Brussels sprouts are also high in fiber. This means that they don’t only nourish your body with vitamins, but they also fill you up!
Since they are so filling, incorporating them into my diet has helped me to stay away from those pesky Cheez-its that still manage to find their way into my pantry every once in a while. Whenever I eat our Lemon Roasted Brussels Sprouts and Linguine for dinner or make our Brussels Sprout Gratin as part of my dinner, I’m not even hungry for a snack later in the night!
28. Spirulina
Spirulina is considered a superfood and is often included in diet plans. This is because it’s great for weight loss! I love adding powdered spirulina into my smoothies in the morning–especially into our Wake Me Up, Keep Me Going Smoothie!

Who said weight loss has to taste bad? So much beautiful food – I’ll probably end up marrying oats one day…
Harry, I love your sense of humor. 🙂
Thanks for sharing.
Is there a clean list somewhere of just the foods without the comments amount each food? I appreciate these suggestions and would love to print a list.
Pam, There isn’t but you can easily copy and paste, then remove the additional text.
